特に朝食と夕食を現地で食べることをお勧めします。食事は素晴らしく、伝統的な日本料理を試す良い機会です。

Value for money great! Located in the middle of this gorgeous old town street with a beautiful view over the area. The room was clean and also smelled that way, very clean. We had a very quiet night and morning. Community showers and bathrooms are clean but give it a bit of a taste of a youthhostel, but we knew this before. What I liked a lot: the restaurant for dinner and breakfast is not in the building itself but across the street. This way I wasn’t hearing any preparation noises like in the last Inn in Tsumago in the morning and could sleep in.
A delicious dinner was served at 6pm, breakfast at 7: 30am.
Especially the woman receiving us at the checkin and serving us at dinner was so lovely and friendly. She made us welcome right away. Thank you!
I do recommend to stay here very much if you need a cute traditionell home for your night between the hikes.

Amazing food, clean rooms and a wonderful host who also speaks fluent English which is very welcome. The town is a delight, especially when all the other tourists leave that come during the day. But that's why you want to spend the night here, right? Definitely recommend!

The homestay is clean. Bathroom and toilet are shared. Dinner and breakfast can be prepared but with prior reservation. They are delicious although a bit pricy. But you may not have much choice as I am not aware that there are any restaurants around.

But the most important thing that I like this Homestay is that the owner, Jen is very fluent in English and she is very helpful and efficient. Would recommend this Homestay.

Absolutely loved it! It is right at the center of magome-juku which is to my taste the most beautiful postal town on the nakasendo trail!

The dinner was very good. A lot of other things including the breakfast were pretty average tho. The vibe just wasn't very good. Somehow it didn't feel like we were in Japan at all:/

Unfortunately I do not believe the owner or host of this property is to be recommended.
My girlfriend and I checked into this hostel on January 1st, and when we arrived the atmosphere of the hostel was unbelievably eerie. The host came to check us in, and he too was very very eerie, very awkward, in a very unusual way, very non-Japanese like…
It was unpleasant.

Nonetheless we checked in, only to find out the reason behind the eerie sense, the host had arranged a room (likely the last room in the property) opposite another room that had a guest fully unwell, coughing her lungs out the whole night.
Though we understand Covid now is a situation that we are trying to co-live with, but the host of this property not only did he already knew about the situation he didn’t even try to notify us with the status of others in the hostel. We understand no one wishes to be sick, and it is for sure not the intention of anyone to spread the virus. However, with the owner knowing full well of the situation and still turning a blind eye to it, that is an immorale host that I will not be recommending.

I tested Covid positive 2 days later.

ゲストハウスとして非常にリーズナブルな料金と充分な施設でした。夕食をお願いしましたが、安くてボリュームもあって大変美味しかったです。従業員の方の笑顔も本当に素敵でした。また利用したい宿です。

Perfect spot if you are visiting the magome area its almost in the middle great location, staffs are nice and they can help the travellers explaining about the foods and about the area

Old postale town, with lovely old style ryokans.

The rooms are excellent (AC and TV included) and beautiful, showers and bathrooms are down stairs. Everything is cleaned up for your convenience before arrival, and at the downstairs Public area you can get drinks for the late night thirst. Dinner and breakfast are served across the street and the host is happy to explain the customs for you.

The town is near the old postale route wich i highly recommend if you like walking, the scenery is beautiful!

At night this old town really comes to its fruition, even if you dont see stars its stil gorgeous!

Very barebones hotel. Shared bath, shared toilets, room has nothing more than a table and beds you have to make yourself.

The food is incredible, absolutely amazing. The view from our room is stunning, and the host is the best ever. Highly recommend it.

They didn't ask us if we want breakfast so arriving at breakfast place they told us there is not anymore food for the morning (at 7.50 am

Beautiful inn, clean rooms, shared showers and bathrooms. (no problem for us) A very kind hostess, proficient in English, all in all a wonderfull experience. Pro tip: go for the breakfast and diner included. Local cuisine is to die for.

Booked on winter end of January 2012. It was low season because the Nakasendo Trail was closed, we were the only guest. The owner lived in another house at the back, they just left us like that. It was really nice because we felt like we own the house ourselves. The room, the toilet are super clean and comfy. The bathroom is a shared ofuro. The tub is made from hinoki wood I think, because it smells aromatic. We met the owner twice, when we checked-in and when we checked-out. We didnt book for meals. It was a great experince. Recommended.

馬籠宿の真ん中にある、綺麗で落ち着くシンプルな宿です。夕食や朝食も予約すれば、準備してもらえます。お風呂、トイレ、洗面は共同、生活音も共同ですが、いずれも清潔で掃除の行き届いていて、心地よく過ごせます。生活音も、皆さん気を遣って問題なし。共有ラウンジでの他のお客さんとのひと時も楽しいものです。食事もこのお値段でこれだけ出していただければ、量も質もお味も最高です。外国のお客様が多く、彼らの様子も楽しそう。おすすめの宿です。

Had a wonderfull stay, a classic ryokan experience, but very welcoming for westerners. The food was simply amazing! The host is very friendly as goed out of her way to make you feel welcome. (And works very, very hard). One point to be mindfull of: while it’s encouraged and expected to be silent around the bedrooms after 21.00, some visitors (usually from abroad, the Japanese are very mindfull of others) tend to be rude, loud and don’t seem to care they are disturbing others. Would definitely stay here again.

50年前、高校生の時に馬籠の民宿に泊まったが、それ以来の馬籠訪問。こちらは、外人さん向けのゲストハウスと理解すべきなのかな。お客も、宿のスタッフも外人さんばかり。料金の割に部屋は狭く、何より夕食がお粗末だった。あれほどがさつな天ぷらは初めて食べた。ただ、夕方や朝、観光客が誰もいない町並みを歩くのはとても気分が良かった。
