Very happy that there was such an excellent coffee shop on the Nakesendo trail with great coffee and service. A wide variety to keep all caffeine addicts happy.

Great coffee, to whom all that needs coffee. Two people are the owners, love to travel, and are familiar with preparing a good coffee with different intense tests, as each of you will love. Have a variety of flavors.

Best coffee I have had in Japan. Certainly best on the Nakasendo trail. They do the full gamut, including piccolo and lattes.

As self confessed coffee snobs we have struggled in Japan to find high quality coffee but this place was a find.
The owner has spent some time in Australia and his coffee is wonderful.
Non dairy option is oat milk.

Do yourself a favour and stop in for a coffee and a chocolate biscuit! Yum.

馬籠宿入口付近にあり、古民家の1階が店舗になっています。

他のお店ではなかなか飲めない、フラットホワイトをテイクアウトでオーダー。

先客も後客もおらず、淹れてくれているのを見ながらのんびりと待ちました。

フラットホワイトが好きなのですが、ここのは少しコーヒー感が弱めかなと感じました。

風情ある街並みで飲むコーヒーは美味しかったです。

It's only been operating for just under 3 years, but this place is already an institution as far as I'm concerned. Great coffee from the English-speaking owner D, who regularly visits the US/Australia and is connected with other cafes in the Nagoya area. He also has a heart of gold and saved my Magome/Tsumago trip when I had nowhere to stow my baggage - a great guy who absolutely does his country proud.

Edit: Revisited in Nov 2022. The owner's brother was staffing the shop this time. The pourover coffee was still excellent! Apparently a blend, but with pleasant fruit acidity, a rich body, and minimal harsh-bitter notes. They also run a guesthouse now, which another customer recommended to us.

BEST coffee I’ve had in Japan by far! The shop is beautiful. The coffee is made to perfection (coming from an Aussie coffee lover). Even offers oat and soy. Kota is an absolute legend and will greet you with smiles and good vibes. Keep doing what you do thank you!

深煎りの妻籠ブレンドをいただきました。個人的な感覚ですが、スタバの深煎りとされているカフェベロナよりも苦味があるように思います。ペーパーフィルターでいれたのに器械で抽出したような苦味で、帰宅後ミルクを入れたのも試したのですが、ミルクに負けない存在感がありました。
お店のロゴが素敵で、水車とコーヒーカップのモチーフかなと思いました。
お店の前には、まさに大きい水車があり素敵な眺めでコーヒーを飲めました。

カメラを持って散策。前から気になってたコーヒーショップへ…。外は暑くて。店内は涼しくて…お店の中に入るとコーヒーの香りに癒されたぁ。涼しい店内でホットコーヒーは最高。美味しかったまた行きたい。またカウンター席がいいな。

馬籠宿で見つけた素敵そうなカフェ。レビューも良かったので、楽しみにしていましたが、残念ながら期待はずれ。9時開店のはずなのに、店員さんが到着したのは10時過ぎ。コーヒーはぬるくて、コクに欠けたのです。残念。
