The curry is delicious, it's just as good non spicy as it is spicy. I would recommend the naan with the butter chicken curry. The curry acts as a dipping for the naan. Best enjoyed, with a beer. Would go again if given the chance.
Amazing food. Ordered the chicken vindaloo with medium spice and asked for a recommendation on the rice. The recommendation fit the meal perfectly. Will definitely go again
I've been to 10 different Indian / Nepal curry restaurants in the Yokosuka area.
Nirvana has friendly staff and a comfortable atmosphere. They also do take out and accept orders over the phone which is convenient.
I hate to say this but the curry at Nirvana is pretty bland flavored compared to a lot of other Indian curry restaurants. The same goes for their saffron rice. The naan bread was a bit burnt as well.
If you *don't* like strong seasonings then Nirvana will appeal to you. I'm not talking about the "spiciness" level, which is adjustable, but to the strength of the seasonings in the curry, or rather lack of.
However if you enjoy the flavor of Indian seasonings another restaurant will be a better choice.
The people that are rating this place five stars are not used to eating food with flavor, or possibly this is the first Indian / Nepali restaurant they ever went to.
