31We went in for dinner and were welcomed warmly by the staff. The menu is available in Japanese, English and Chinese which is very helpful and the selection of food lies between sashimi, deep fried fish and meat dishes, rice bowls, egg and chicken dishes and fried veggies. We ordered beer and oolong tea with the maguro (thuna) fry set and the katsudon (pork cutlet bowl) and both came with miso soup and a small plate of tsukemono (pickled veggies). Everything was absolutely delicious and reasonably priced definitely a great recommendation for the chokokunomori/gora area!
Walked in to a friendly greeting. Menu in English made it very easy to order
The food was a good price and delicious. Try the dumplings! Chicken box was delicious too. A must try
Loved the meal and service here. Walked over during my stay at TenYu Ryokan. English menu. Highly recommend the food. We had fried chicken, pork cutlet set, chicken cutlet set, gyoza, edamame, and grilled meat set. All of it was delicious.
Service was great too, run by a Japanese woman and an elderly woman in the kitchen. Wish I had time for another meal here!
Super good food, small place peaceful ambience. The owner/staff was really friendly and cheerful too. Strongly recommend agadashi tofu, fried oyster and omelette with ham:)
Local, delicious and fresh cuisine. Perfect food and very nice staff. We ordered tonkatsu and sashimi with yam (not a fan of yam but otherwise you can't find a better place). Probably^^
Great food and great service. It was a small-ish shop with 3 tables, each can accommodate 4 people, and some counter seats. The restaurant felt warm, cozy, and authentic. I went alone but there were some friendly local men and two other tourists and we all had a great time. The menu has a lot of options, mostly fried food though. I had their winter specials, kaki furai and agedashi tofu. Both were good.
A nice little lunch spot with good food near the Open Air Museum. A family run place with wonderful service. They accidentally gave us incorrect change and the woman ran about ½ a mile, uphill, just to give us the correct change.
This place is so good we went twice while in Hakone! The tonkatsu pork was sooo delicious and fresh tasting, and the miso soup is the BEST I’ve ever had. Very very friendly man and lady who run this place, can’t recommend highly enough! My partner said the beer was delicious too!
Delightful. The food was excellent, the experience authentic. Do not be deceived by appearances, the posh places on the hill are not as authentic as this quiet corner.
Suggestions: rice set, Tuna Sashimi, fried chicken and a cold beer. Menu in English. Give it a go.
