晴らしいプライベート温泉と川の景色を楽しみながら、本物の日本を体験したいなら、ここが最適です。スタッフは優秀です。これは、箱根エリアとホテル全般での私たちの旅行のハイライトでした。ただただ素晴らしい！

Absolutely beautiful place, full service given at all times, and very few amenities were spared. We had a great attendant who spoke good English, and when I mentioned I was trying to learn Japanese, she spoke basic sentences with me to help me practice. I don’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for the absolutely complete ryokan experience.

Our one night here was the highlight of our Japan trip! We were a group of five and enjoyed the most delicious dinner and breakfast. The onsens are serene, the service is top notch, and the grounds are absolutely beautiful. The walk from the train station was easy, although a bit uphill. They let us store our bags before and after the stay. Can't recommend this place enough!

Fukuzumiro (福住楼) is a great choice to experience the authentic traditional Japanese ryokan. We lived in the rooms that are next to the Haya river. The gentle murmuring sound of the river is the perfect background music for sleeping. The bedrooms, onsen, and the dining rooms are all very unique. This ryokan has more than 100 years history. One thing needs to mention is that many famous people in history had visited this place before, e.g. Natsume Sooseki 夏目漱石, Yasunari Kawabata 川端康成 (who I know). Every room has a booklet that tells you about the history of this specific suite. If you understand Japanese, you would learn more about this place and those people who slept here decades ago. 故列叙时人，录其所述，虽世殊事异，所以兴怀，其致一也。

古き良き温泉旅館の良いところを堪能できます。大昔泊まってとても印象が良かったので再度訪問した所、以前と変わらず良い印象でした。
温泉は露天風呂もあり湯質も良くしっかり堪能できましたし、食事は野菜もたっぷり取れて進取の気質も感じられる面白いメニューでした。特に朝食が豪華で驚きました。
立派な建物の見学ツアーも楽しませていただきました。欲を言えばもっといろいろ見せていただきたかったです。
またお邪魔させていただきます。

2月末に宿泊させていただきました。
貸し切りの小丸風呂が大人気で、どの時間も埋まっていました。 (貸し切り湯は到着後の予約となっています)
私は貸し切りではない大丸風呂と岩風呂を利用しました。早朝に浸かった大丸風呂も良かったですが、岩風呂は包み込まれるような安心感があって、どちらかというとこの岩風呂のほうに何回でも浸かりたいと思いました。
お料理も桃の節句にちなんだ盛付けなどでとても綺麗でした。もちろん味もとても美味しかったです。
20年近く前に連れてきてもらって以来の利用でしたが、当時の記憶のまま100年以上前に造られた建物にかかわらずあちこちがピカピカでとても美しかったです。
お手洗いも部屋にはありませんが、窓など凝った造りになっているのも見所ですし、清潔に保たれていました。
またきっと利用させていただきたいと思っています。

Unfortunately, I only stayed there for one night. The service is really great, there are 5 onsens in total and the food couldn't be better either. I probably would never have ordered fugu myself but it was really delicious and I'm glad I tried it.

文化財として認定されており、建物はもちろん、サービスも素晴らしかったです。またぜひ利用させていただきたいです！
駐車場の位置が分かりづらいので、行かれる前にどこにあるか調べておいた方がいいと思います。

日本語が話せる方はスキップ / if you speak Japanese I suggest skipping- you can get better value elsewhere! If you don’t speak Japanese, a great chance for an authentic traditional experience. Ok ryokan charging luxury prices, I suspect with a premium as they will and can cater to English speakers very well. However, overpriced for what it was if you can speak Japanese in my opinion; even considering Hakone location. Food was disappointing for the price. We are pescaterians and they did cater but appeared to do so halfheartedly. Lots of cheap carbs and veg as substitutes, or one day we just got an entire plate of raw sea bream seemingly left over from other dishes. Service was excellent the first night and then the second night less good; I wanted to have breakfast enjoying our very expensive room and view. But they wouldn’t put the futons away or raise the shutters beforehand. Feel like they could have managed that at the price they charged us… Building is beautiful but not that well located for multi day sightseeing in Hakone (you want to be further up the mountain). I also found 2 cockroaches in 24 hours; they are pretty common in Japan but still I have never found them at another hotel. The big big plus point is they have 3 private baths you can book for no extra charge (my partner is not Japanese so finds public baths rather alien- this way he was able to experience a hot spring). So a good trip, but not great value IMO- all in all I wouldn’t go back.

Beautiful location, exceptional food, and outstanding service for a very reasonable price. The staff are extremely attentive, welcoming and accommodating of guests like us who don’t speak Japanese. A must visit while in Japan! It’s really cool to stay in a traditional place with so much history and they clearly put an incredible amount of effort and care into the food, which was delicious. It was a real privilege to stay here and we would definitely come again.
