If you're a foreigner living in the Hiratsuka/Hadano area, I'd highly recommend checking out this real estate agency.
The main feature, in my opinion, is that they are foreigner friendly, as in they allow you to browse, reserve properties, and initiate contracts even if you're abroad. However, I think you'd need some proficiency in basic Japanese; they can dumb down difficult words for the sake of explanation, but I didn't confirm if they have an English interpreter with them.
Based on my experience, they are pretty quick at responding to emails (a few hours on average) as well as processing the paperwork. Their admin fee might come across as one on the pricier side (I've seen as much as a full month's rent), but considering they offer a lot of choices and have a pretty robust customer support I think it's mostly worth it.
The staff is nice but the system is weird. I got charged around twenty thousand yen for cleaning when I moved out but they didn’t even clean the house! Why would I know? Because my friend moved into my place right away. I even left all the furnitures to her (the agency knew about it). So why would I get charged for “CLEANING”? I still have no idea.
Btw, I didn’t even get charged by the cleaning fee when I moved out for my next apartment (of course this time it was not under this agency).
