夫婦園キャンプ場

It is closed but I went there the other day to try and talk to the owner and see what it was like.
I parked on the main road and walked down.

Sadly the owner wasn't there so I didn't stay long or look around too much.
It seems that this place was devastated by a typhoon a few years ago and they are slowly trying to rebuild.
In it's hay day I imagine that this place was like a dream. Massive rope bridge across the river, bungalows, waterfalls, a nice clean flowing river, and BBQs.
Sadly now it's a shadow of what it once was.
It reminds me a little of Bakansu mura (バカンス村) up the road.

The road going in if quite wild and not for the faint of heart. One lane, steep, slippery, rocky, broken.

It will take a LOT of work to fix this place. I hope someone can.

As I was walking back out, almost at the top, someone drove down the road. They didn't stop, didn't even make eye contact, so I'm not sure who it was but perhaps it was the owner going down to do some work on the place.

I hope so.
