安産杉

Got married and gave birth all within a year after praying to the tree.unbelievable but true.at that time, i was already nearly 40 years old. Now hoping to go back to give thanks with my family when the covid restrictions for my country is lifted.

I have been trying for 6 years after my 1st child but failed. Too old for medical intervention so this was our last resort. This thought may sound farfetched & unrealistic but we did conceive successfully 2 months after our visit (praying to both the tree & shrine). My husband, who laughed at my idea initially, was awed in disbelief. What I did at the tree was pray with my sincerest heart.

Don't give up even if you were not granted your wish after visit. Just keep on trying! Even not for baby wishing, Hakone is a beautiful town near Tokyo (45mins via bullet train).

Now we are hoping to bring our blessed child there to visit this tree himself.

山岳信仰の名残を残す杉の木です。
瓊瓊杵尊と木花咲耶姫命が結婚したという神話に由来しているとのこと。
源頼朝が北条政子の安産を祈願したという歴史もあって、安産杉と言われているそうです。

Stone lantern with red glass inlays (above) and the Anzan-sugi (below). Anzan-sugi (cedar of safe birth) is an 800-year old cedar tree believed to possess a divine spirit of the Shinto tradition. The shimenawa (sacred straw/hemp rope) on the tree is the border between realm of the spirit and humans and wards of evil spirits. This tree is regarded as a symbol for a smooth delivery when giving birth, and a symbol of prosperity of one's descendants. Pregnant women, families of all ages, and tourists will offer simple prayers or just pay respect to the tree's spirit with a simple bow.

安産の御守りとか売ってるのかもね。
子供いない頃は子宝の神社に行くツアーとか縁起担いで良く参加したけど。
神頼みするより漢方薬やロ━ヤルゼリーとか飲んで体質改善した方が効果的と途中で気付いた。
今は子供２人います。
縁起担ぐ初詣とか行かなくなりました。

雄々しく聳え立ち、揺るぎ無い安定感。女性に例えれば安産型でしょうか？

杉は雌雄同株、風媒花｡葉先にある米粒のような花粉を吹き散らす部分が雄。葉先にあるアザミの花のような部分が雌の花。受粉したら雌の花から種子が飛び散るそうです。古には神社に杉の苗を奉納する事があったようですね 　2020/07/07

Went and pray here in our 1st wedding anniversary. And voila! We are a blessed parents now!
