甘酒をいただきました。体が温まって美味しかった。
土間の感じとランプシェードが素敵でした。
隣にある箱根旧街道休憩所にひっそりとある博物館が無料の割にはなかなか面白かったです。
なぜにもっと宣伝しないのか。もったいないです。
A peaceful and quiet Tea House. One of the oldest and still in operation Tea House to serve Travellers. Do remember to try their Mochi and Amazake (A drink make from Fermented Rice, it is sweet and with a unique taste less the alcohol. Suitable for children too.)
Fantastic. Especially after hiking the Old Tokaido from either the Hakone Tokaido Checkpoint Museum or from Hatajuku. Part of it is that you're tired and thirsty and it's just such a relief. Their amazake is HOT by the way, drink it anyways. It's surprisingly the best. Also get their mochi. If you understand Japanese, the name of the mochi is chikaramochi which also means a strong person. Punny. It will give you the strength to complete the hike or whatever you have planned after.
This place is the last of the four resting place during the Edo period and a must visit place to experience the japanese vibe
Super quaint old tea house. Perfect for a nice break while walking the old tokaido road - which is a beautiful stroll that takes about 2 hours, and is a rough cobblestone path that has been around forever. Not sure if I’d bus out here just for it, but I found appreciating how difficult it can be to move things along the road and how nice taking a rest here would be
A must try experience! Great for a chilly day or after hiking the old trail that leads right to this tea house. The rice drink is so unique and the black sesame sweet was very good (our favorite)!
箱根ドライブの帰りに寄ることが多いです…ちから餅にところてんが定番です…混むときは混みますが、お味が良いので、つい足が向かってしまいます…昔ながらの建物で、休憩しているときは、落ち着けます。
Nice experience. Beautiful location. Have two types of sweets. One of them, saponin based, are not for me - too gelatinous; the other, the rice ones, are great. Check the small Japanese only museum on the side about the location, a traditional route between the old and new capital cities.
