「バーのない街にバーをつくる」

東京の名店で修行を重ねた
バーテンダーの大橋さんが選んだのは
鎌倉の長谷だった。
地元でも、ゆかりがあるわけでもなく、
ときどき遊びにきていた海の気持ちよさに
惹かれて移住を即決したそうだ。
御成や小町の賑わいから離れ、
夜になると静けさに包まれるこの街で、
一つの灯りに吸い込まれるように
老若男女が訪れるバーがある。
BAR KELPIE。

皆わざわざ、彼のつくるお酒を飲みに
長谷まで足を伸ばすのだ。
お酒に詳しくない僕でも分かる。
ここで飲むお酒は、本当に美味しい。
何が違うのかは分からない、
でも違うことは、はっきり分かる。
彼が大切にする言葉「一杯入魂」。
ビール一杯から、複雑なカクテルまで、
どんなお酒も、人生と技術をこめて注いでいる。
人はきっとその真実味に
舌鼓を打ち、心を打たれるのだと思う。

「オーセンティックバーは敷居が高い」。
そう思っている人にこそ、
この店のドアを開けてみて欲しい。
ちょっと人見知りで、
だいぶ人好きなバーテンダーが待っている。
ノーチャージでふところにも優しい。
お酒に詳しい必要はない。
すっきり、しっかり、あまい、すっぱい、
なんとなくの気分を伝えるだけで、
ああ自分はこれが飲みたかったと思える
絶妙なお酒を出してくれる。
おまけに少し話しかければ、
人生のこと、鎌倉のこと、お酒のこと、
照れながらも心を開いて話してくれるだろう。

BAR KELPIEは、
「海辺の焚き火」のような店だと思う。
静けさただよう夜の長谷で、
お酒に情熱を燃やす大橋さんという炎を眺めながら、
常連さんから一見さん、
女子大生からおじいさんまで、
一切の垣根なく、ただのひと同士、
おいしい酒を飲み、
一期一会の出会いを語らっている。
家路で感じるのは、
寒い夜に焚き火をした後の
あのちょっと火照った幸福感だ。
一大観光地の鎌倉には、沢山のお土産がある。
僕は、この店で味わえる、
幸福感というお土産をおすすめしたい。

Amazing place to visit. Yuki san was great at what he is doing. We spent there great time with local people. Just leave the choice to Yuki san and you will have amazing coctails. If we come Kamakura again this place is one of the must for us to go and you should definetely try it.

鎌倉大仏近くにある正統派バー。日中は観光客がひしめく賑やかな交差点に面するが、陽が落ちれば一転ひなびた町並となる。
夜ともなれば鎌倉駅からは江ノ電に乗らなければ行くことができない、外来者からすると辺鄙とも言える立地だが、それがまた逆に小旅行的な特別感を煽る。
店は一見静かな佇まいでありながら、明るく気さくなバーテンダー氏が良い味を出していて、楽しい時間を過ごさせてくれる。
葉巻やパイプの備えがあり、またバーでありながら夕刻から珈琲なども飲めるということからして、ここは鎌倉を根城とする大人の隠れ家と言った所だろうか。

This place was absolutely amazing! My finance and I visited the Great Buddha and walked around and stumbled across this place. First off the ambiance is an old fashion feel with relaxing classical jazz music. The man behind the bar explained he only knew very little English but he knew just enough for us to communicate what kind of whiskey we liked so it worked out perfectly. He took pride in the drinks he made and had great recommendations! My fiancé asked him for his favorite and he said he likes peaty scotch (which was perfect because so does he) and I asked him for his recommendation of a rye. We both enjoyed his recommendations and found it crazy how he hand cut our cubes of ice as well as the sphere of ice! After we enjoyed those we asked for an old fashion and WOW! He took his time carefully crafty this and it was the best we’ve ever had and we drink whiskey and go to whiskey bars often back home. He freshly squeezed an orange carefully added in the whiskey, bourbon, bitters and everything else and carved our ice and boom; magic! With us have four drinks each a whiskey on the rocks and an old fashion is only set us back 5,400 yen which was very reasonable. I highly recommend you to come to place. This is a great whiskey bar! A hidden little gem!

Awesome old-school cigar bar, playing jazz and serving top-notch cocktails (by a master bartender) - yabai!

Definitely recommend. Chill situation, relaxing air if you need. Not only japanese, but everyone is welcomed right here
