Purdy Gym

Purdy is nice, usually crowded, but that's fine. Seats or something in the kids area would be nice.

This gym is so hot in the summer, I broke a sweat the second I walked inside. If you like sweating your body weight in water every 20 minutes, this is the gym for you. A sauna would be cooler to work out in.

It's clean and has lots to offer for all levels of fitness. Plus it has lessons and trainers for just about anything from kids to personal goals.

Nice, workout spot for on base, but it does get overcrowded sometimes around afternoon time frame. It's best to go in the morning when not that many are working out.

Good clean gym. Lacks some workout equipment such as rowing machine but overall typical for a naval base.

Considering all the COVID waves & closures then reopenings, the staff is very resilient and friendly. Expanded hours, clean lockers, mitigation in place yet can still get full workout on all equipment. Pool very nice for lap swim. Outdoor fitness area too. Worth a visit!

I had the worst experience today. I went to the gym for the first time and got kicked out saying my shorts were to short, but I get there’s a dress code but why would you be so loud and do it in front of everyone in the room? Why would you go in the back and get like five people to embarrass someone. I will never step a foot back into that gym after getting treated so poorly, I have never been treated so badly in a public place.

Lots of equipment. Never filled with people. The only downside is that, for those without vehicles, it's far from both gates. You can either wait for shuttle or use the long walk (25m) for warm up.

For as small as the weight room downstairs was, it had so much to offer I loved it. All kinds of free weights. A place for deadlift and leg press. Military can only enter at a certain time that was a bummer but still overall it was well equipped. Pool was amazing, the overall place was clean. A locker to store your items is available just bring your own lock. It's been my favourite gym so far.

Best gym on the base! Staff is friendly, plenty of machines and room to do exercises, and an outdoor track, baseball, socker, and football field available as well! Olympic sized pool to boot!

Equipment arrangements to support social distancing includes 2F basketball courts. Glad to return to a gym.

So many nooks and crannies in the place are a plus but it's difficult at times to use their indoor pool

The air conditioning is struggling but a terrific variety of equipment, free weights, and classes. Large and equipped enough that there is little or no waiting for equipment you want to use

This gym is fantastic but they dont have some machines that I'd like. I bring my wife and have been trying to get her into lifting so most of the machines here work for her. Love the pool. It's the best part of being on this base honestly.

I do like this gym, I mean it has so many different types of machines and rooms. The problem was for kids, even teenagers, couldn't use the gym equipment unless the had a certain orientation pass and an adult was watching them.

Great gym! A lot of class options on base and decent facility with everything you need. There is no childcare, but there is a small space you can drop your kids off in the middle of the family room. They need some entertainment though because ethere is nothing in there for them.

Full service facility for servicemembers and their families. Machine, free weights, aquatics, and cardio resources.

I enjoy this more laid back gym for my workouts. Additionally, it has a great pool area, also with cardio equipment if you want to watch your child swim and workout. The only setback is no family locker room.
