SoftBank NEX Yokosuka

Pls don’t waste your time going here. Wanted to buy an unlocked phone and was told I could only choose from a list of rather low end phones unless I wanted to also buy a service plan. Then I could get a higher end device. Walked off base to SoftBank in Coaska and was able to purchase an unlocked, sim free phone with my ID and passport.

DO NOT GO HERE, THEY ARE CROOKS. Don’t even brother trying to return a phone from there. Because ALL PURCHASES ARE FINAL! That means no returns, and the contracts you sign are in Japanese so if you speak japanese you are in luck. But if you don’t like me good luck.

The customer service is great, and the services are pretty good. Can be a tad higher priced.

It's super convenient to have a cell phone store in base and the staff is super friendly. In fact one lady entertained our kids for most of the time we were there and I'm extremely grateful for her. Really like the YMobile plans for affordablilty. It's best if you come with a printed copy of your orders. I've spent a lot of time there trying to send stuff to their printer from my phone and it has never worked well. Indeed that's my one complaint is the time it's taken me to get a new phone.

Had to pay back four months of cellular data that we did not have due to the store being closed during Covid-19. I wish SoftBank was replaced by a more reliable phone company on base.

Customer service here has taken a dive. The sprint service in the states is marginal at best.

A week after I bought a phone here I came back to purchase a second phone and add it to my account. The staff informed me that they needed another copy of my orders in order to add a line to my week-old account.
