鏡池

(Trip was made back then on 21 Nov 2019,2 years before the Covid-19 Pandemic hit)

Nara is known for its deers, but it is also popular as an autumn fillip age destination spot.

Just outside Todai-ji Temple is a beautiful pond decked with different shades of warm colours from Mother Nature.

It was definitely worth the trip to Nara during the autumn season. Really wish I could revisit again….

二月堂からの帰り道に通りかかったら
東大寺中門のリフレクションが美しく映えていた。
池の名前を調べたら『鏡池』で
成る程納得。
昔の人々もここへの東大寺の映り込みや、月の映り込みの美しさを愛でていたのかなと
思いを馳せる。

東大寺に寄り添って有る池で昔はここに東大寺と月を写して宴を開いたのだろうと想像する。
水面に写る東大寺大仏堂がとても綺麗です、直進で大仏堂に右に折れたら二月堂に向かう分岐点になっております。

Kagamiike, the Mirror Pond, not only mirroring the beauty of Todaiji Great Buddha Hall and its Nakamon but serves as water resource to supply rescuing splashes in case of fire.

镜湖不单映照东大寺和中门之美，也是火灾时的救命水源。

Very magnificent to see from the other side of the pond. I imagined it would be far more beautiful during fall season.

大仏殿がきれい。四季折々の美しい姿が楽しめそうです。このわきの道を上がって、二月堂、三月堂に向かうのもいいですよ。
