Perfect food and very friendly service, helpful, explaining all specials of the day and all for a superb value, to recommend

Sat down at 19: 00, and they were sold out of nearly everything.

They didn’t tell us this until we began to order, and were sold out of grilled chicken, fried chicken and cutlet.
Then separately told us they were out of the mashed potato.
Oh and the octopus. So basically all recommended dishes

We ordered the special of scallops, and after 20 minutes they delivered the news they only had 2 scallops for 4 of us.

The livers (pictured) were fine, and chicken (pictured) was excellent

Overall, hugely disappointing

奈良旅行をした際に寄ってみようと4時40分くらいに行ってみると近隣住民の迷惑になるので並ばないでください。臨時で5時30分からの営業になりますとの張り紙がありました。5 時20 分に行ってみるともう満席ですと高齢の男性店員が仰いました。客に並ばれたので入れましたとのことです。それはさすがにないだろうと思いました。事前に調べて遠くから奈良に行ってるのに。もし、今後行かれる人が見てましたら遠慮なく並ぶことをお勧めします。並ばれたら入れてくれると思いますので。自分は肝焼きを目的に訪れましたがその日はおでんの日と張り紙が貼ってあり、焼き物は一切注文できないようでした。どちらにしても諦めるしかなかったですがちょうどよかったです。評判が評判を呼び、ほっといても客が来ると思い、あぐらをかいていませんか？このお店で実際に食事はしていませんが、奈良旅行で唯一残念だったお店です。

Nicest Izakaya we visited during our trip to Japan. Layout of the bar allows for easy conversation. Nice mix of mostly locals and a few tourists. Even as outsiders we felt very welcome. Food was varied and tasty.

Nice place in an old style. We went in without reservation, the clerk (with very good English) told us to come back in about 15min, what we did and we had the most chilled time in our whole stay in Japan! The food is very good although a bit pricy. The stewed liver and cutlet are delicious. Of course since it's a recommended Izekaya from Lonely Planet and the guesthouses, there were few tourists but mostly locals, so that was cool.

Great place, japanese menu was explained pretty well and we had a great time with good food! Definitely worth a visir in Nara!

If you want to be in a local restaurent then this is the place.the staff is very friendly and speak english.the food is very good. I feel lucky i was introduced to this restaurent

A must try restaurant to eat when in Narra - Kura, a small Japanese restaurant for 60 years that serves really good Japanese food. The restaurant has very limited seating capacity. We had no reservation, the waiter said only one seat left, good thing waiter did some checking inside and then allowed us to be seated because we arrived there before the peak hour. Salmon with avocado salad (very good!), grilled scallops (very fresh) grilled chicken (the seasoning is the secret ingredient)

Staff super ok! Food was super good! Ask about the seasonal menu pasted on the wall usually in japanese.:)

Lovely family restaurant, highly recommend the beef and scallops specials. The salmon sashimi was lovely delicious. Fairly priced. Enjoyed the bar style dinning

おでんはもちろん、タレが真っ黒なのに山椒や甘辛さの加減がたまらないキモ焼き大好きです壁に貼られてるお造りなどのメニューもオススメです。氷頭なますなど珍しい一品も！渋い木目とコの字型のカウンターが雰囲気良くって、狭さも楽しめちゃいます。あまり混むと入れなくなるので心配ですが、オススメです

Amazing sashimi, excellent scallops, and a lovely atmosphere. Sitting around the bar makes for fun conversation with locals and others visiting Nara. Highly recommended.

Delicious food. Cooked patiently with friendly staff. It makes me and my family feel welcomed in this humble izakaya restaurant. The Oden, sashimi, pork Katsu are must try in this restaurant. Would definitely love to return here.

An awesome little izakaya restaurant specializing in grilled/fried food and oden. Great vibes and great food - the deep fried chicken, grilled chicken, and tuna sashimi are must haves.

Absolutely delicious. Worth every penny. Service was superb. Get the sashimi of the day-whatever it is. Also the grilled scallops were excellent and the fried pork cutlets. Honestly anything on the menu is gonna be awesome. You can't go wrong. Also the cold sake was the best I've ever had. It's the choryo-get it!
