2 Its like home away from home. I stayed here for a night last weekend. I love the common living room area which offers a fantastic view of Naeba Ski resort and Mt Naeba in general.
The rooms are typical Japanese ryokan with basic amenities and common onsen area which is surprisingly spacious.
If you are going for Winter sports activity around Naeba and Kagura, this hotel is good option for a night.
I was a bit scared when I saw some of the reviews about this place but having just spent two nights there, I was overall quite satisfied. The building is clearly old, but the owners keep it quite tidy and have made an effort to brighten the place up by hanging up art and plants (mostly fake). The room was cozy enough and the bath plenty hot. Breakfast was a generous size for 1000 yen. The owner (the husband) speaks pretty good English. It's a 10 minute walk or less to Naeba ski resort.
