14 イケメン四代目が握る鮨を楽しませてもらいました。
高級店で食べるのは初だったのですが、江戸前の鮨の解説をしてくれるので美味しさの背後にあるものがわかるので2度オイシイ感じです。
聞いたら漁船に乗ってどうやって漁をしているのか?運び方は鮮度が落ちないのか?仲買人とのコミュニケーション、一人一人のお客様の好みをリアルタイムで把握をしたりと芸が細かいです。
予算以上の価値がある店。大切な人と大事な時間を過ごすのにオススメの店です。
たまたま運良く席の空きが出て訪問。カウンターの角席。平日の夜は客層的に上着くらいは着て行った方が落ち着くと思う。大先輩の常連さんに囲まれた席でしたが、朗らかな大将の気配りで最初の飲み物が来る前にリラックス完了。
料理は言うまでもなく最上級。
某口コミサイトでの評価にムラがあったのでやや不安があったものの、歴史あるお店なので間違い無いと判断したのは大正解。リピート確定。
大将が穴子を出す前に「うちの穴子はうまいよぉ〜」と自身でハードルを上げますが、期待をぶち超えてきます。穴子を焼き始めると席まで香ばしい香りがほんのりと届き、その香りで一杯飲める。

ビールと鳥飼2号か3号くらい飲んで2万程。
銀座や六本木なら倍はするレベル。
何故こんなにも口コミ評価が高いのか全く理解できませんが、大森というへんぴな場所でこんなに高い金額を払うなら、都心でもっとリーズナブルな価格でクオリティが高い寿司屋は山ほどあります。値段とクオリティの完全なるミスマッチ。食べログの点数の方がよほど現実に近いです(3.1でも高いと思うけど)。
(One of the worst sushi restaurant ever)
I can hardly understand why this restaurant is highly scored. There are plenty of better sushi restaurants in downtown Tokyo than this one. The restaurant's minimum price for dinner is JPY15,000. This is unblievably expensive and the price doesn't actually match with the quality of sushi. They are just ripping-off foreign tourists who don't know much about sushi. I stongly recommend going to other places located in the centre of Tokyo.
Was disappointed by experience at Matsunozushi. Chef Yoshi and his staff were very nice and friendly, and food certainly wasn't bad, but if you are paying US$250+ / person the food should be much better; overall under-par with other restaurants I've been to at a similar price point after living in Tokyo for three months. A majority of the fish was cooked (much of it not actually sushi), soups were average, even the fruit we received for dessert was just okay. Several of the nigiri were quite good but still underwhelming for the price. It looks like this restaurant caters to private events more than individual parties, from what we could tell, and perhaps we misunderstood what the restaurant is supposed to be (i.e. Closer to kaiseki than a nigiri-focused omakase)
High quality sushi, with dedicated chef and waiters/waitress. This is where you can experience genuine Japanese food culture and services. Highly recommended.
The master Sushi chef Yoshi-san who is the 4th generation of this excellent restaurant makes you speechless! His deep understanding of both western style Sushi and Japanese Sushi is unlike other chefs. He has lived in the US and Europe as well, so he is a super host for both locals and foreign tourists. You can realize that Sushi is an art of cooking because of his true hospitality too. Actually I don't need to write this much, please just go and experience the real "Edo-mae Sushi" (Tokyo style Sushi). If I could, I would put 10 stars without hesitation!
Make a reservation in advance. Sushi here is delicious, if not served a bit cold. Staff is helpful (some speak English). Very traditional omakase course menu. Not a bad way to spend an evening. Take some time to reflect in the garden, if you have a chance. It's always amazing that places like this can exist in a city like Tokyo.
創業170年、と長い歴史があります。お昼にランチで訪問しました。10000円のコースを頼んだと思います。先付けから5品、握りが14貫でした。印象に残っているのは自家製で味付けしたカニ味噌と、炙った穴子です。穴子は身と皮目と二通りで炙っていただきました。
嘘でしょこの評価? しばらく行っていなかったが、客の顔を見て料金を決めるような店だった。たった2人で行っても10万円越えの会計なんて当たり前。よくこんな都心から離れた場所で銀座並みの料金を取るなぁ~って感じの店だった。
裕福な外国人客をターゲットにしたんだろう。
A very hidden yet historical sushi restaurant. Traditional sushi with an extra bit of creativity. The thoughts put in throughout the course of the meal is more than it meets the eye. Very friendly and attentive service. Also received some simple lecture of the tools and ingredients before the meal.
One of my best sushi restaurant in Tokyo. They offer finesse sushi crafted from the best natural ingredients selected each morning. You can enjoy premium quality sushi with an English speaking chief. 3mins from Omori-kaiganj station.
Authentic atmosphere and taste. Yoshi (the owner) has a superior presentation skill in English.
The best sushi I've ever had. The chef is extremely knowledgeable and speaks good English. It's an amazing experience to listen to him tell you about the various preparations. The fish is all extremely fresh and they utilize techniques and preparations I had never had before. I felt honored to have the opportunity to dine there.
