Gotta tattoo from Shinshu Manabu over 2 days, super impressed with the result and 100% would go back to get more from him. Just like every other shop it's Cash only. Bit of a language barrier if you don't speak fluent Japanese, but that is to be expected.
I was lucky enough to get an appointment booked 2 weeks prior to my trip to Japan from Canada. I only had one day available that I was in the Shibuya area. Upon arriving, I was a little nervous as I dont speak Japanese and was travelling alone. This was BY FAR such an amazing experience. My tattoo is beautiful and such a great way to remember my trip. Hopefully I will be back to Japan, and will most definitely be back for another tattoo.
Atsushi is the best. I've been coming to him every year I'm in japan, even my friends come to japan just for him! Follow his ig: tagtattoo
Located on the sixth floor, in japan you're not allowed to put a sign outside for advertisement so just double check the room via letterboxes outside. As like most japanese establishments- you can smoke.
Très bon professionnel! Parle aussi anglais, accueillant, prend le temps d'étudier le tatouage demandé et fait des propositions d'amélioration, a un don artistique, rapide, efficace et prix corrects. Domo arigato!
Very accommodating, I was late from Hakone and they still honored my appointment. Just remember to bring Yen for payment. Very satisfied with my work and would highly recommend.
Came here for full sleeve. Left with that plus an experience and a contact of a world class artist. Atsushi free handed a perfect design and worked me in through a three week period. They were responsive over email and were on time and straight forward with the price. You get what you pay for with tattoos.
If you have to ask the price maybe you should go to your local scratcher to get your butterfly and kanji symbol of live, laugh love.
Yes the shops on the 6th floor of a non descript building, yes some people smoke
You are getting a tattoo in Tokyo as a foreigner not a manicure at the mall so check your expectations and have an experience of a life time:)
Your lucky to deal with a shop of this caliber. Alot of tattoo shops won't deal with westerners and getting an appointment is hard.
I am from the US and was visiting Shibuya with my dad and brother. We all wanted to get matching tattoos to commemorate our trip and agreed on an Oni devil mask and we are so glad we found Atsushi at tag tattoo to do the ink! He did an amazing job, was very courteous and even managed to reach out and get us in the shop a day earlier then expected which helped out hugely with our own plans while we were there. I highly recommend tag tattoo and can’t wait to visit again so I can get more ink by Atsushi, he is an amazing artist and a just a friendly person overall. Thanks again!
I gave a 5 star bec his work was amazing but customer service is different because of the language barrier and a few other things. He was able to grasp my idea and a cover up piece of a traditional style Japanese tattoo. It looks amazing and would recommend Atsushi San. Contact him through email to make reservations bec he is very busy.
Arigato gosimus Atsushi san

First of all this place is located in a very odd place that was kind of hard to find and a little suspicious. Also EVERYONE in there smoked and for someone like me that suffers from asthma I could not sit for a tattoo session in there. I just couldn't breathe which was the least of my issues. I emailed months before I came, set up a consultation in which I was assured the tattoo I asked for could be done. I sent pictures and discussed back and forth. However when I got they acted like they had no idea who I was or what I wanted. I had to show them the picture again and was then told it was going to cost me 180 an hour and that what I wanted needed to be made twice the size we had discussed and I had to sit for it for over 2 days for at least 4 hours and it would cost twice as much. I feel like they were just trying to get more money out of me because I was a gaijin. Their work is beautiful but maybe not the best place to go for a white female.
I walked into the shop very nervous and intimidated. I don't speak Japanese and I was a single female. However, Atushi was very chill and it didn't take me long to become comfortable. He was working on someone else, so he had me come back in a few hours. The actual tattoo didn't take long and the results are fantastic! I love my tattoo and I highly recommend Atushi!
