12 The soccer team had one of the worst sportsmanship out of the whole pacific east.
Always wonder what the coaches aree doing
I never felt like I belonged in Japan when I moved from Hawaii until I attended CAJ. Teachers always helped me understand the material and not just complete it. The academic level is high and prepares you for college. Many students in America did not even know the proper way of writing essays, making power points or even know how to present. CAJ was really strict, but college was smooth because CAJ prepared me!
I see comments that are saying that CAJ is religiously biased, well it is, if you look at the name of the school, it is a Christian school. So if you do not want that then I suggest you go to another school. And CAJ does not force students to convert to Christianity, that is really up to the student, but if they feel that way, thats on them.
Overall, CAJ is a great place to learn, grow, and build relationships with other students who are just like you, coming from different cultures and living in Japan. Teachers make mistakes, the school is not perfect, but I believe that all teachers strive to do their best to help students to the best of their abilities. I would recommend this school!
Very high quality education, but lacking in practical training for developing ones career goals and aspirations. Facilities are very nice and are much better in comparison to local public high schools in Japan. Would overall recommend.
We're finding CAJ to be a great place for our children to thrive academically and socially. It's a great choice for families seeking an international, Christian education.
I attended church here on Sunday! It's a really lovely campus and even more lovely people!
Well, if Nicole D is telling the truth, that is in 2006. The school have changed in many good ways in fact I can't find any negatives. It is like a person that was in jail, grow and change. They have done something wrong in the past, but they change to live a good life.
Thumbs up on this comment if you think what I'm saying is reasonable
10/10 Would recommend.
Great place for all, especially if you are looking for a Christian education. Good academics, diverse set of student clubs, strong sports teams, and friendly environment.

It’s nice how the school provides a place for its students to catch up on sleep. Every Tuesday there’s a nap during “chapel”. Especially for student who live far it’s great time to sleep because it’s after lunch.
I briefly attended this school in the fall of 2006 and it was worst schooling experience of my life. I came home crying every day but luckily my mother is an angel and withdrew me in 3 WEEKS. I should have shared this story a long time ago.
On my very first day at the school I wore a tank top (not a spaghetti strap and by no means was it low cut. It was just an absolutely ordinary tank top). I attend an English class. I don’t remember the teacher’s name but she had blonde dreadlocks. Imagine my utter disbelief when I open my email a few hours later to see a novel length email from this teacher detailing how my top was “inappropriate” for her classroom. She said this was my courtesy warning but if it continued there would be disciplinary action.
I remember she said, “I know everyone’s body develops differently and therefore clothes can fit differently” - the message being, that top is fine but your breasts are bigger than average for your age so you can’t wear it (hilarious because I was a small B). Do you have any idea how damaging that is to say to a young girl?
I was 14 years old and she made me feel like my body was dirty and wrong.
On my second day I had physics class. Again, I don’t remember the teacher’s name but he was an elderly gentleman whose wife also worked at the school and they had both been teaching at CAJ for a long time (I think something like 15-20 years). I had just moved to Japan and bought Japanese underwear (not a g string) which unfortunately, did not fit my body correctly and was sticking out of my jeans. I remember being very embarrassed by this and I tried to stuff it back inside my pants. At the very end of class this creep actually gave me a dress code violation slip in front of EVERYONE (couldn’t even do it in private?) and said, “too many times in one class. ” 13 years later and that is still engrained so clearly in my mind.
There is something very wrong with that faculty and I hope they no longer teach there. Why are you hyper sexualizing a CHILD’S body? Is it because YOU need to protect YOURSELF from temptation?
**Side notes - the kids were not inclusive at all. Very cliquey.
** they laugh at other religions in Divinity class (including the instructor!) - nice job teaching love and acceptance for all!
I wouldn’t recommend this school to most people. The school’s administration is a very unprofessional group of people. Dont approach this school assuming that every staff member is a really good Christian. Of course, some teachers are Christians who actually behave as Christians. But the most recent high school principal in particular seems as if he doesn’t follow the principles of the Bible. Some of the consequences given to students here are consequences that are not even listed on their school code. Consequences are given based on how the principal feels. And the principal is more concerned with giving a consequence instead of helping them learn. Some examples I have heard of is taking away what students are passionate about. I believe that something that is corrupted here is that they just take away from the students and that’s it. Nothing else. It seems as if there is no actual Christian love shown from the high school administration staff. Also the high school administration doesn’t give the students a right to free speech. If you say anything you want to say, they will just cut you off and tell you that you don’t have the power to say anything like that. In the Bible it says that all humans are equal and have God given rights. But it just doesn’t seem like students receive that here. And the worst part is the fact that it is a Christian school but still lacks these basics. In addition, although the principal always makes it public that he seeks justice, there are just countless numbers of instances that show he is not living up to what comes out of his mouth. It just seems as if the high school principal think he has all this power to do anything he wants. (In comparison, it is like Thanos with all the infinity stones) But acting in a way that puts yourself higher is not something you would normally see from a leader. Also, some of the staff don’t keep private information confidential and share it with other staff members or even students. I have heard that the principal will be leaving from next year so I am excited to see what the new principal can actually bring to this school.
It may sound as if this is biased but it is just what I have seen and heard from many people. And I would also like to say some good things about the school. A few of the teachers here are actually very good and actually show love and forgiveness. But at the same time, there are some teachers that shockingly eat fast food meals while teaching. The classes that I heard are good are these: Chemistry, English 10, Calculus, JCGI, AP Japanese.
Honestly, this school is amazing. People here are good teachers. There are the ups and downs to this school but it seems like all schools have that. It’s a bubble for the students. A small school doesn’t really mean a bad school. And a Christian school, is a good school for the soul, if you think the school is biased, then I have news for you: the teachers are trying to give you the opportunity to love god. They are trying to save your soul and become a follower. But it’s your choice.
