4 This is a well established and organized school, but it does have it's pros and cons depending on one's perspective/preference. For future foreign students, I will cover a few things I feel that is essential to know beforehand.
Diversity/Classmates:
The school does not have a wide diversity of students. It appears about 97 % is Chinese and 3% is others. It could be a good thing for those have interest in Chinese or is familar with Chinese. But if that does not apply, there is still one more thing to note, the school will offer a discount for those coming from certain countries and staying for 1 year or more. For those that want to build a wide diversity of connections, it is definitely not possible here.
School hours:
As of 2022, The morning schedule is 9: 00AM (09: 00) to 12: 30PM (12: 30). *Updated
Student Visa restriction points:
*As a student at this school, we are not allowed to own a motorbike or car. It includes appying for a license as well.
*Maximum of 28 hours of work per week. (During special long vacation 40 hours)
Japan life Assistance:
The school can give you some information, references, or possibily where to go to look. They cannot provide any further help than that, as it is not part of their responsibility.
Classroom:
It is a casual semi style. As it does Not require you to change into slippers nor do a unified stand/bow before starting and ending class. There are standard rules like, no eating, use of smartphone during class, etc.
Teachers:
They are all nice with good appearance. Majority can only speak Japanese, also those that can speak other language will only use Japanese in class. Some teachers will be a little less friendly to those are stuggling with Japanese. But not to taking it to heart is the way to go I think. Just do what you can, and aim for your goals.
Location:
It is located in Taito-ku, which is pretty much quite in the center of Tokyo.
Pros: Close to all the city tourist destinations. Akihabara, Sensoji, Ueno Park, etc
Con: Living expenses are higher in the area. More crowded.ex. Central Tokyo rent can be around 60,000円 per month for basic 1 room apartment (excluding ultities and initial fees).
Outer Tokyo rent can range from 25,000円 to 40,000円 for a simlar room or better. (Excluding utilities and initial)
Tokyo Life: (Excluded from the rating)
Pros:
-Lots of things to do and see.
-More work opportunity than other prefectures.
Cons:
-Higher overall living expenses. (Food, Trains, Rent, etc.)
-More crowded and longer queue lines for restaurants.
-Overall less friendly, more sensitive, and more passive aggressive than other prefectures. (Excluding people that are working) (Varies between wards)
Personal thoughts:
-The school is good for preparing students for the JLPT and other tests like the EJU.
-I asked a teacher to help find a English speaking doctor for a health check, but I never got a response back.
-I like my teachers.
-Classroom enviroment for the n2 class feels a little more gloomy than the n4 class
卒業生だ。
この学校クラス分け制度悪すぎた。
それに、墨田区の本庄吾妻橋にあった宿舎はめっちゃダメだった!
でも担任たちはみんな親切でよかった。
立地はまあまあだった。
