6Was very happy with this hotel. Arrived very late to Shinjuku station by Narita express and caught a taxi for 840 yen to Hotel's 24hr check in. Walked into hotel and surprised by warm electric toilet and spacious bathroom. Our room was renovated so fairly new on the 5th floor. There are a few dining options open till 1am. Hotel had a constant warm airflow which kept room nice and cosy but the aircon also had a heater if you wanted the room a extra warm. Its about a 3 minute walk to shinjuku gyoen station and theres a laundromat right in front of the hotel. Staff were courteous and friendly at all times. Walk to shinjuku shpping areas was a 10-15 minute walk. Will stay again.
I stayed at City Hotel Shinjuku over a period of 5 days in February 2019. We picked the 3 beds in a room option which was the newer apartment section whilst my parents stayed at the hotel section. First off, the positives. This place is very assessible to the subway (Marounochi line) its just maybe 200m away. The amenities in the room is good. You get Shiseido creams, lotions etc. The new apartment section is nice, has a little more space but further away from the main hotel. Housekeeping is good. Now on to the negatives, the main hotel rooms are dated, my parents stayed at room 501 which was a double bed but hardly any place to walk or put the luggage. I understand space is a commodity but if you are coming with a family, pay more for the 3 beds in the room newer apartment section. The frontdesk staff is very uninterested and dare I say doesnt exemplify Japanese politeness. So would I stay here again? Maybe as a family but as a solo traveler there are better options out there.
Run-down hotel, dated, stained on the wall and ceiling, hairs everywhere. Smoke smelled in the Room, cacked ceiling. The room wasn't worth for the price. Free coffee packs in the room. DVDs player, refrigerator, big bathroom with the jet bathtub but there is a mold on the bathroom wall. Free drinks from the fountain soda down stairs but limited 3 glasses a day. No parking on site. For 3 adults 2 blankets wasn't enough. Late check out charge 1,050 yen/hourly. Hotel is under renovation but they still rent the room out. I wouldn't recommend. You can pay a little more to get nicer hotel.
