銀座本店にもいきましたが、こちらの方が緊張感なく、落ち着いて食事ができました。ただ、他の方のコメントにもありましたが、確かに、ジロウさんの武勇伝 (映画化されたこと、本も出版されてること、世界各国から有名人がいつもきてること、写真を撮って欲しいといつも求められること、などを割とこちらから尋ねたわけではないのに長時間お話をされてらしたのは確かでした。
ですが、お味が最高に美味しすぎて、忘れてましたw

最悪な食事の時間でした。旦那さんと食事をしました。基本的には、普通に話をしているとお弟子さんが、静かにしてくれという合図を無言でしてきます。そして食事中は大将の武勇伝?自慢話を永遠と聞かされます。極めつけは会ったこともない私の母親に対して、「はっきり言って母親失格だね」と言われました。理由は、私が好き嫌いが多くて (この日は大トロと赤貝が食べれないと言いました。他は全部食べました。) でも大分克服したんですと説明していたら、それはお母さんの影響?と聞かれたので、確かに母は偏食で偏った食事内容だったと思います。と言いました。そしたら母親失格の言葉が…そこからは全くお寿司が美味しく食べられず…
母が母親失格かどうかは別として、初めて会った人の身内に対して、しかも知らない人に対して、母親失格という言葉を発する人間性がどうしても受け入れられませんでした。
二度とお店には行きません。

Its pricey but worth every penny. It may not be for everyone but if you are a sushi enthusiast you will not be disappointed. It is the best sushi ive ever eaten. Sushi saito is a close 2nd.

Overpriced and under-delivered. There was too much vinegar in the rice that it took away from the taste of the fish. Also, Chef Takashi was kind of a jerk to his sous-chefs. I understand he demands perfection and for the price of a meal, customers deserve that too. But seeing a 19-year old get scolded publicly was way more distracting to the quality of my meal than the tiny “mistake” the kid may have made.

Bucket List: Dine at Sukiyabashi Jiro and watch the master Takeshi-San at work perfecting shokunin is an incredible experience. The sushi is made with so much care and using only the best available ingredient. The sushi rice is more vinegary than what I’m used to and this is Jiro’s style. I had 33 pieces and asked for more uni and smoked bonito.

Takashi-San is a cool guy and takes the time to explain each piece (and he allows photos if you ask for permission). He speaks three languages and have an affinity for Taiwanese people. One of his apprentice is Taiwanese. And it is the first perk I’ve received being a Taiwanese. I can now call them directly to make reservations without jumping through hoops.

The selection included flounder, clam, scallop and smoked bonito sashimi. The smoked bonito was eaten two ways. One-way with the sesame leave with ginger flower.
Followed by sushi: flounder, squid, needle fish, giant scallop, three types of tuna, gizzard shad, Salmon roe (he was quick to point out he doesn’t like factory made salmon roe so these are made in-house) I forget the next piece. Next was Japanese tiger shrimp where we had to eat the tail-half first and then the head-half. The head-half included some brains. It enhanced the shrimp flavor. He said the shrimp was still alive moments ago. His apprentice peel it in front of us.
Next is “Best” Hokkaido uni (he said San Diego uni is on par with best Hokkaido uni and these days cannot get them in Japan. Years ago when sushi was unpopular in the US it was easy to get), clam, in-house cured mackerel, small scallops, sea eel.
At this point we had the option for three addition pieces: flounder fin, Japanese geoduck and Japanese abalone.
Then given the option for more of our favorites. I got uni and smoked bonito sushi. And we ended with the famous tamago!

One of my best experience to have Sushi and Nigiri. Chef is friendly to Foreigners, even you can not speak Japanese. Nigiri looks very simple but you can taste different flavor in your mouth. Better not have lunch if you plan to go, you will get too full.

Visited the Ginza location last night, where Chef Jiro Ono himself prepared the exquisite dinner. Today I tried eating at this location owned by one of Jiro's sons because I heard it was just as good and I could make it in without the months reservation. The restaurant was actually booked for the day. Since my flight back is this afternoon, I will miss out on comparing the omakaze. If like father like son, I'm sure it is Amazing as well.

Sukiyabashi Jiro is a sushi restaurant in Ginza, Chuo, Tokyo, Japan. A branch is operated by his son Takashi is located at Roppongi Hills in Minato, Tokyo. It The Michelin Guide has awarded it 3 stars.

This was undoubtably the best sushi experience of my life. The service was amazing and the chef was in a very good mood. An almost zen like experience that I will repeat my next trip to Tokyo. Very much worth going there -

Booked here because it was so hard to book the one at Ginza. It's best to bring a Japanese-speaking friend to enjoy the conversation with the master.

Great expérience. Even if you don’t Like a things.taste and jiro make you Like it) that’s Classic sushi i mean not européan taste. Si don’t be surprise.

Some people say the chef has bad manner. Didn't say goodbye when the client left. I go there one time he has say goodbye in my own language and give me his name card. He won't say goodbye to a bad client. The client think they are the king. He won't say goodbye. He is very serious about the food. You think he treat his apprentice badly? This how they learn how they remember what they have done wrong. I will go there again.

To be honest, I have been to many famous sushi restaurants in Tokyo, Hong Kong, NYC, etc. But this is definitely the worst experience I have ever had. Some sushi tasted like chewing gum, rice was too big, bigger than conveyor belt sushi’s rice. Most importantly, Jiro san’s attitude was really bad. So he pretended to be very friendly, but we heard he spoke sth negative behind us.

Sitting at the counter and watching Takashi-san working his magic was a life time experience. The sushi was made to perfection and service was impeccable. For these critizing his manner with his apprentice, I experienced the same thing and it did not bother me at all as this is very usual for master-apparebtice relation in asain. This is how apprentice learns from the best. Will def come back

The sushi is amazing and the atmosphere is unique! However, I don't think it is worth 300$. There are many great sushi restaurants in Tokyo in which you can get the same quality of sushi for half the price.

こぢんまりとした空間で、大将と会話をしながらお寿司を楽しめます。高級店には違いないのでしょうが、サービスはどちらかというとシンプルで、使い方としては「さっと食べてさっと帰る」のが良いのかもしれません。

An homage to great sushi, with several unique pieces that make this 20-piece meal worth every penny.

Service from Takashi was also extremely friendly and attentive, making the experience pleasant and not at all as intimidating as one can expect. I'm definitely coming back the next time I'm in Tokyo!

Sushi Sukiyabashi Jiro is heaven. It's definitely one of the best meal of my life. I went there twice and everything was perfect. It worth the price and if you go there, please respect the sushi art. Please don't talk loudly, eat politely and appreciate the chef's work.

Lives up to hype of some of the best sushi in the world. Words cannot describe my experience here enough. 100% recommend if you can get a reservation
