27Perfect choice for a first time solo traveler. Subway station is near and you'll feel safe within the area.
Very nice and friendly staff. Cheap and easy to access from Shinjuku Station. It is worn and the carpets smell of old feet in the elevator, but towels and tea are free. The bathrooms are easy to use and clean (if a bit worn) and the common room on the 10th floor is clean and pleasant. As a female, however, I felt a bit apprehensive that the female floor could be entered by anyone on the premise as the floor doesn't have secure locks allowing only that floor's guests to enter. Also the beds are nice, but the matting is very, very thin, so not the best sleep. Otherwise, good for the price.
It's hard for me to review a place like this, I don't know if it should get a good review based on the price or bad review based on the overall comfort. I can say you're getting what you pay for. A place to sleep, shower, and prep a meal. It's clean, and customer service seemed fine. As an English speaker I was able to communicate with the clerk, which was a huge plus. The bed is an inch of padding in a wood cubby that left me needing to rotate every couple hours because of sore spots, so don't come here expecting a comfy night. It's just a place to close your eyes for a few hours before your morning activities. If that's what you need, it works.
It s cheap but the showers are not the greatest. Many toilets are out of service but for that price I was not surprised.
Ace Inn Shinjuku is a cheap Hostel. I had a lovely, relaxing time at this place. It was everything I needed and wanted from a hostel, clean and homely. Next to Akebonobashi subway station. The staff is friendly. I would highly recommend staying here if you want to stay in an inexpensive accommodation in Tokyo and will definitely return.
I like the 10th floor, common area, for the space. The beds at 5th are basically capsule. It's good for sleeping only. Bring your own slippers and maybe fold them keep them inside your capsule, tucked away when not in use. Take 4 or 5 coins when you take shower. When you drop the coin, the shower is activated for 10 mins. Just drop another coin when the shower stopped. The shower is at the basement. You basically is seen at lobby when you go down and go back up to the elevator. The elevator is cramped, make allowances and better take shower earlier than everyone else. Very close to the train station. Good value for the money. We stayed for one night only. One strange encounter is that some let's stay japanese man who is not employed at the hotel, and maybe a freeloader, who come in and go, and drink tea and coffee left by guests, and he smelled and sound drunk, asked us why we (our race) keep coming to Japan, and mentioned to us that japanese people did very bad, very terrible things to the women of our country. Yep. History.
Location is great but the beds aren’t comfortable, the showers are not great and a lot of sinks and toilets were out of order
Great place with an awesome price. About 20 to 30 minutes walk to the busy nightlife of Kabukicho and Golden Gai areas. The place is clean and cant beat the price.
You will make friends from around the world to chill and go out with here. I paid about 185 us dollars or 18000 yen for 10 days. I went all over Japan and could leave my belongings safely and I had a small locker to put my passport and money in. If I come back to Tokyo then this place definitely meets the budget without a hefty amount.
One of the best capsule hotel. The location of hostel was good and the bed was also great. The capsule which we stayed was very spacious and the bathrooms are sparking white and it was so clean as well. Had a change to meet fellow international Travellers. Very budget friendly and affordable hostel in Tokyo. Metro line is with in 5 minutes walkable distance. Staffs are very friendly. Highly recommended.
No response given if you’re considering making an adjustment to your booking. It’s a cheap place so don’t expect much, you can find better hostels for around the same price.
About 30 minutes from Shinjuku City if you walk. Traditional place take shoes off but the bed is terribly uncomfortable and to much noise didn't like how they wanted you to wear there slippers as this is a hygiene issue for myself anyways other than that it's ok
+ It was cheap.
- Worn down old facilities. Moldy shower. Smelly building.
Not great. I'd avoid this place if possible unless money is super tight.
The price is right for what you need. It is cheap and the stay is comfortable. Comes with free wifi too.
Close to the party Shinjuku area, especially the San-chome party area (lots of gay bars and such). The pods were large bunk beds with a hole open at the feet. The place was clean, there was free showers, towels, coffee, and no curfew. There are two to three showers for each gender for everyone in the building so plan well. My only complaint was that the showers had some mold on the ceiling, but otherwise was very clean. Theres a 711 nearby for food/drinks and the hostel had beer vending machines
Pros:
Clean rooms and beds.
Much lower price and higher availability on weekends then rest of capsules weve checked.
Cons:
Location not so close to any center.
All facilities are very simple with no decoration or extra comfort (but all are functioning and seems clean).
Staff is nice, they are fluent in English, they give you towels, shampoo and soap, the bathrooms are clean. Is surprisingly private for a hostel. Would stay again
