Been coming here for years. I love the staff and menu. English menu and explanations for cooking available. My friend got the vegetarian okonomiyaki and they brought over a vegetarian okonomiyaki sauce for her to use which was helpful especially since it’s hard to know if the sauces have fish or meat extract in them. I think if you ask for the sauce they will bring it out! I had the avocado tomato cheese okonomiyaki (with pork) and it was amazing. Will continue coming back and bringing friends. Thank you Sakura Tei!
THIS PLACE ROCKS! The food is delightful, it’s all cook it yourself, and with not too large of a menu, the quality of the ingredients skyrockets. The environment is gorgeous, with murals on every wall showing off the talents of plenty a Tokyo artist. The staff is very kind and is polite to those who don’t speak Japanese (also there is an English menu). There are photographs for each type of dish, so that people who have recently arrived in Japan will understand what they are ordering. I remember when I first moved here that was one of the first places I tried real Japanese street style food, because it felt comfortable to go there. Thank you for all the lovely memories Sakura Tei, I always take visitors here!
Shot at Sakura-Tei Harajuku. To me no restaurant quite like it. My very first time here was together with my Sophia University friends and everybody ordered Okonomiyaki. I, then oblivious to the difference, ordered Monjayaki! The ingredients are served in a bowl and on your own hot-plate you can cook it. I’m glad I got the help needed because the batter of the Monjayaki is much softer. #Tokyo #sakuratei #harajuku #okonomiyaki #monjayaki
You can have an experience to cook your own okonomiyaki! Even i am pretty sure i cooked it wrongly, it still tastes pretty good (would be better if cookee properly).
Their menu also have an english translation and the how to. And their menu option is very interesting as well.
Will definitely come back and try their tabehoudai (all you can eat).
All you can eat and drink from a set menu for 2 hours, ¥4,000 each. Great price and quick, friendly service.

Great experience, because you cook everything by yourself. Lots of options on the menu and everything is explained. More pricey than you normally pay for Okonomiyaki.
I can't believe you can get vegetarian and gluten free okonomiyaki! It was so good I wanted more, although the smoke from the cooking was unbearable for my sensitive and dry eyes. You cook your own food at this place, plenty of ingredient variations to choose from. There's also yakisoba. Really cool!
Although it is a little far from city center, they have amazing food at affordable prices. I ordered the okonomiyaki which has really fresh seafood and they have a guide on how to make it yourself. I would definitely recommend this place!
This is a little difficult to find and always busy restaurant. I love their wide range of okonomiyaki options. Here you are served with the contents of the dish and you can make the okonomiyaki yourself. Good experience and tasty food.
The restaurant is the back side of Design festa gallery, Harajuku.
The restaurant has English menu and English-speaking Staffs.
Truly speaking there are more foreigners than Japanese customers in the restaurant.
Enjoy different taste Okonomiyaki and Japanese Drinks.
Delicious. Mostly cooking for yourself so make sure you go before you're hungry. Was perfect for our family of 4 with 2 young kids. We walked in off the street on a Thursday at lunch time and got a table without waiting. Caters for English speakers really well with pictures and English cooking instructions. Highly recommend!
Make your own Okonomiyaki. It is great for the experience and the food is good. It will also only be good if you know how to cook. There should be at least 1 person who knows their way in the kitchen when you come here. Okonomiyaki is a little complicated to make. Every order will have to be made on your own on the teppanyaki top.
The ingredients are fresh. Suggest to order the classic style okonomiyaki: classic or spicy for first timers. Also, Yakisoba is great (which you will also cook on your own).
The restaurant is a little difficult to find. Let the street art guide you to it. As you enter go to the table with an iPad to list yourself and get a number. Their online reservation system is a little complicated. I still had to get a number from the counter.
Amazing food at reasonable price. They give you all the ingredients in a bowl and you make the okonomiyaki yourself on a hot plate
Very cool place with great cook-it-yourself-okonomiyaki. We enjoyed both vegetarian and sea food based Okonomiyaki and they were both delicious!
A h8dden gem that specialise in Osakan dish "okinomiyaki" with a hot plate on your table to prepare the dish to your own liking. Beautiful artwork on display around the rustic building and just next to the busy Takeshita Street.
They have a lot of menu such as Okonomiyaki, Monjayaki, Yakisoba, Teppanyaki. A lot of topping and drinks also. "All you can eat" also available with many options. The interesting point is you need to cook by youself! So it is a good experience in Japanese restaurant. The menu is well described in English. The staff can speak English. There is second floor but you need to careful about gas wire on the floor.
