コーヒー代だけでコンサートを楽しめる素敵な空間。

15時過ぎに来店。2階席に案内されました。
大音量で流れるクラシック。まるで生演奏を聴いているようです。 (まあ私は滅多にコンサートに行かないので実際のところは分かりませんが…)
とにかく、充実した時間を過ごせました。

店内の写真撮影は禁止。
お店のルールを守れない方がいるようで、少し残念です。

Very interesting experience you could find nowhere else in tokyo! When you go in you see huge organs and seats lined up in front of it. You whisper your order to the waitress. I had hot chocolate which was very yummy. Great place to unwind from the hustle and bustle of the city and emerse yourself in the classical music.

Good to visit here a few years ago, not during the COVID19. I would say how enjoyable for a stay here but the coffee is not good as expected, coffee is so so for nowadays standard. The atmosphere is the key and attraction for patrons.

Really special place to go alone to escape the busy streets. Amazingly curated music schedule. The interior slightly resembles a church.
(No conversations, just sit quietly and listen to the music.)

おっさんの教会かな？誰も喋らない。薄暗い店内に正面の巨大スピーカーから響く名曲。ボソボソと構成を喋るクールな店員のお兄さん。こんな喫茶店は初めてで新鮮でした。しゃべりたい人は連れてこれないですがこの空間を楽しめる人は良いとこ。アイスコーヒーにガムシロ付けてくれたんだけど勝手に入れられてて甘すぎたのは許せないので5です。

Such an amazing place. I highly recommend you check it out if you want a relaxing, unique experience you can’t get anywhere else!

渋谷では昔から有名な音楽喫茶で好きな曲をリクエストできますが、まだ未体験です。
現実から離れて時間を過ごせると云うのが一番の目的で訪問していますが、裏切られません。嫌な事も忘れられる空間だと思っています。
飲み物はいまいちですが、愛嬌で.

I like this new style of music they play here, very different than the nightclubs that I usually try to study and relax in.

One of a kind café in the world. If you love music and want to escape from Tokyo and Shibuya, you should go to the Lion cafe.

Off a side street, nestled in between love hotels and Shibuya’s red light district is Lion. You could easily walk by as I did for 4 years and never have even an inkling of what is inside.

From the moment I walked in, I had the distinct impression that whatever ~500 yen drink I ordered off the menu, it didn’t really matter. Going to Lion is not as much a trip to a cafe as a step into a different time and state of mind.

Maybe it’s the high-backed velvet seats, lined up two-by-two on the first floor facing forward to enormous bottom-lit speakers playing Schubert and an altar of ancient-looking classical records. Maybe it’s the triangle clock that is keeping an unknown time or the guy next to me who is drifting between sleep and writing in his notebook. All I know is that I can’t stop my mind from marveling at the passage of time and how a random cafe in this city could have kept a slice circa 1930 paused in an area like this.

I would recommend coming alone or else with someone you can comfortably share silence with. Lion is probably not even on the top 50 things people will typically tell you to do in Tokyo, but I think being here will something in you.

初めて来ましたが、タイムスリップしたかのような店内とそこに流れる音楽、そしてその雰囲気をコーヒーと共に楽しむ時間は、中々経験できることではないと思います。
カフェでお話しながら、ではなく店中に響き渡る音楽を聴いて楽しむ。良いですね。

Amazing bizarre cafe with classical music playing. You have to be very quiet in there, it's like a cathedral. Unique Tokyo experience

ちょっとクラッシック聴きながら読書でも。
と思って行ったのですが、暗くて読書は諦めました。
ただただ音楽に耳を傾けるのに良い店です。
全部アンティーク品？ってくらい内装はシックで、あの雰囲気で音楽に浸れるのは最上。

No talk cafe with classical music (played through an amazing sound system). Absolutely recommend if this sounds like you're type of deal.

Fantastic little cafe for going to sit alone (although they can seat small groups too but keep in mind there is no talking allowed). They play classical music from a wonderful sound system and have a range of basic coffee/tea options to drink. Can sit here for hours endlessly. Some people come to work, some to think, and some to even nap. Would highly recommend a visit (or 10) here.

Cool place. Insane sounds system. Not a fan of the smoking, but when in Rome, you learn to tolerate it.
