Visited to see how the “other side” lives. Apparently they do so in sweatpants and athleisure. Big exchange that seems similar to any you would find in the US.

For a small base the exchange carries many essentials. Surrounding naval bases have a larger selection of things like furniture and electronics that can be delivered and picked up at the local exchange.

The Yokota Main Exchange is adequate for most of the basic necessities of life for an American living in Japan, however don't expect much of a selection.

This is one of the best BX I’ve ever been at here in Japan. I see all the reviews of people crying go take a look at with the other BX’s have

Friendly service and decent selection of American products. Men's clothing in limited and could be better.

It's a basic exchange and I mean basic. It's got your clothes, electronics, some furniture items. The options for all isn't much. Again, basic.

Literally the only place I go on base when I’m bored. There’s plenty of parking also. Stuff is always on sale which is awesome but the girls clothes section is kinda not cool. Like who chooses what clothes to order cause it looks like my grandma did. Anyways the protein bar and powder section is my favorite because it’s colorful and bright. I might become a bodybuilder.

This is hands down the best BX and Commissary in all of Japan. It's far superior to the new BX in Okinawa and no Commissary in Japan has the choice cuts or wide variety that this one has. This was the first time I've been able to buy a ribeye steak that is roughly the same proportions as American ribeye and it was only $12.00 usd versus the tiny thin ribeyes I'm used to having access to that cost $16.00 to $20.00 usd at every other Commissary I've been to in Japan.

Before covid stopped the store from being stocked it was always under stocked and stocked with things no one wanted or needed

Always check the exchange website for prices. They do price match but it's kind of crazy that their own website will have a different price from the in store item. Other than the price discrepancy it is a very nice store.

Same items are cheaper in the commissary? What gives? Often times the Exchange is 25%+ more expensive. Hilariously poorly organized. They have water bottles in no less than 5 locations. I also found a Madden 2013 in their video game section.trying to sell it for $20. OK boomer.

Disagree with the one bottle policy on meds. Some off us live about 4 hours from base and can not get to bx every day.

Like most base exchanges, you will either find what you're looking for, or you won't. But you can't beat the no sales tax prices and they will price match with most major retailers, including Amazon. As long as it's sold and shipped Amazon and not a third party seller.

While not as great as many of the exchanges that we have experience in our years with the military this one is adequate and you should be able to find most things that you need.

Good food in the food court. Popeyes, Charley's, subway, taco bell, pizza hut, Dunkin Donuts. The commissary has good sushi and sandwiches.
