Fish & Chips Malins

The standard has slipped!

Have been a regular customer since it's opening, over COVID I did not visit and last week was the first time for 18 months.

The malt vinegar condiment that stays on the table tasted stale probably through sitting in direct sunlight for weeks/months on end. The salt was caked and then finally came pouring out through an oversized hole completely ruining the chips.

The fish definitely is not as good as it used to be. It has a frozen and thawed taste.

A real shame, it used to be my favourite, but Hobgoblin and half a dozen other places now have higher quality.

Very classic Fish n Chips. (British style). The large Fish is large. You better have an appetite if you order that (in my case, by accident). But so delicious, I finished it!

たまたま通りがかりで気づいて訪問です。六本木駅からミッドタウンや国立新美術館に向かう途中なので今まで気が付かなかったのが不思議なくらいです。久々に食べるフィッシュアンドチップス、堪能させていただきました。一緒にローカルなクラフトコーラ付きです。店内は、それほど広くないのでテイクアウトの方が良いのかも知れません。この手の食べ物は無性に食べたくなる時が来るので、きっとまた、訪問させていただくことになると思います。

なんとなく入ったお店が美味しかったので口コミ失礼します。
本格的なフィッシュ&チップスが食べれます。とにかく美味しかったのでまたいきたいです。思ったよりボリュームもありお腹いっぱいになりました。気軽に本場の味が食べれるのは嬉しいですね

Fish was delicious, the batter was great. The chips were good.
I was bummed they ran out of tartar sauce at 12: 30. Didn't make sense to me.

Chips were not like British chips. These were more like oven chips. Bit disappointed because, first time I visited, the chips were perfect and exactly like you'd get from a chippy in the UK. Seems a couple of years later they've changed. Fish was excellent though.

I can't comment about the food or service. The location is so terrible that it prevented me from eating here. There is an alley next to the restaurant that is designed as a public smoking area by the city. A never ending cloud of nasty cigarette smoke. Too bad. I like fish and chips and I was looking forward to lunch here when I saw it from across the street the day before my attempted visit. Sorry, not paying to suck cigarette smoke.

Fish could be a little crispier but overall i was happy with the taste and even the portion which exceeded my expectations for Japan size. You also get to choose your sauce and they have vinegar and salt at the tables for your own taste accommodation. Pic is a fish and chips dish, regular size.

Authentic British Fish & Chips eatery, this is not really a sit-in restaurant, more of a casual quick diner with a few high stools and round bar tables.

Recommended to enjoy with their Gravy sauce.

本番イギリスのフィッシュ&チップスより美味しかったです。ロンドンの有名店Fish and Chipperとの食べ比べですが、魚の鮮度なのか管理なのか調理なのか、、、比べ物にならないくらい魚自身が美味しかったです。この店をファーストフードと考えると値段が高いように思えますが、レストランやパブと考えれば安く感じます。とにかく料理だけで満足出来るお店なのでリピート確定です。

あえてリクエストをするならば、添えてあるレモンをもう少し大きくして欲しいです。

グレイビーソース、ビネガー&ソルト、このキーワードに反応するひとは一度お試しください。海外まで行かなくても、あのジャンクな満足感を得られます。

おまけに、カレーソースもなかなかおすすめです。

Excellent fish and chips. Two points about the website though. One is that the menu's prices haven't been updated to include tax, which is now required in Japan. Also, the say that delivery is available, but when I called the number they gave, they said that they don't do delivery and that I'd need to go through Uber Eats.

That aside, the food is still really good. I'll definitely go back again.

BLUF: Decent fish and chips, not just “for japan” but anywhere.

As an East Coast Canadian I take my seafood very serious. Malins is quite acceptable for getting a fix. The batter isn’t too greasy which is a big bonus. The chip portion is fairly large. Could use a bit more Tatar sauce. The price is ok at 1700JPY for the “classic”. But please, not more beer battering fish if it isn’t a white fish.

Got the 1700 yen fish and chips and 600 yen meat pie. Lightly battered but still has that crispiness you can't find in other fish and chips places in Tokyo. A little pricey but worth it once in a while

A small part of Tokyo that is very British. Crispy fish and chips, malt vinegar, might peas. Would be even better if we could have more might peas, not just as a sauce. Small place so can wait for a place to get free if full.

ロンドンの町で実際出るようなフィッシュアンドチップスが気軽に六本木で食べれる。美味しいけどちょっと高い？いや、ロンドンも物価高いから、、値段はロンドンでフィッシュアンドチップス食べるのとそんな変わらないのか、、、

But way too expensive for what you’re getting.

Definitely not THE fish and chips.

Chips are weird.

Not enough dip.

Fish is okay.

Waiting time is too long.

Good only for snacks and not when you're hungry. The space is a bit tight and stuffed meat is so little. There's no sauce available for the chips except for salt.

Great Fish and Chip shop in Roppongi. The two British lads were very friendly and the food tasted great! I would highly recommend it to others.

Over priced and definitely not worth the money. Website mentioned importing all the equipment from the UK. For that, it is rather disappointing.
They were trying to be an upscale fish and chips from the UK. Although, it was good and chips were cooked, I was disappointed for the price being so expensive for just a piece of code roe.
Fish were tiny even I got the big size. I was told it's about 170g and massive, it might be big for toddlers in my opinion.
Big size were around 2000 yen. I got big fish and chips, cheese pasty and large size chips but still only half full. They almost stopped me from ordering too much and one big meal I ordered would be enough.
Chips are smaller size than ocyawan (rice bowl). Chips were little soggy for me, prefer little more crunchiness.
Only good thing was cheese and onion pasty and vinegar they had on the table.

Been a few times. Unfortunately it gets worse each time. Good - chips. Prices are fair. Staff were pre-occupied with massage techniques (on each other, not me.)
