It was a home away from home in many sense of the Word as an American living overseas for 3+ years. Very strong community feel and aspect.
Go to place if you are looking for an English Catholic mass in Tokyo.
The community is very accommodating not only to locals but also to visitors.
The chapel is a beautiful to pray. The person in charge of greeting people was rude and impolite. This was very disappointing, for a christian catholic church, that should welcome people, not send them away.
Live stream Mass is great to understand today's Gospel since the father's clear voice through the technology. Of course, gathering Mass is best; however, the streaming is so helpful to be blessed much better than I'd expected.
The community is amazing! I didn't miss a single Sunday Mass! This served as my soul's refuge in Tokyo!
Services in English especially confession. Went here for Holy week esp Easter vigil mass. COME VERY EARLY!
Visiting from California, the presiding priest is very friendly and accommodating, as well as the whole community. Thank you,
I’ve been going here for some time now, english catholic masses (visit the website for times and details), priests and churchgoers are all friendly, all sorts of nationalities, lots of kabayans too, beautiful chapel with great choir, visitors are welcomed at end of each mass, can get crowded sometimes
Catholic church but I had a bizzarre experience with the priest in here after receiving communion he reprimand me and say do not geniflex, I was kind of surprise coz in my 42 years of going to church and receiving communion where even sometimes I see people sometimes kneeling down receiving communion never the priest saying dont do that, I didnt get the meaning but I think as a priest you should never do that, God is almighty! Sometimes other priest think they own the church and using their position, God is forgiving God accepts everyone.
There's a strong sense of community in this chapel, a friendly environment fills the halls during Sunday mass.
Some activities are held to support the center's projects which includes bazzars, Christmas Boutique and Bakeshop, among many other things.
If you want to meet new friends, stick around after the mass and enjoy a little chat over coffee and doughnuts that are served at the social Hall.
Is it your first visit? Be prepared to be welcomed with a warm St. Francis greeting.
If you're leaving Japan for good, you will be sent off with a sayonara prayer on your last visit at the Chapel. There's that simple but heart - tugging ceremony that will move you to wish that your next destination would be filled with fond memories.
It's proximity to the station and popular tourist destinations makes it a favorite place of worship.
Good priests, people, and of course house of Lord God.
The facility is awesome for it is spacious.
You can check their website for schedules of masses and events.
The mass was so solemn and the community is very accommodating. We love to see the people sing together as one.
Attended an evening mass here during our trip. This church conducts one of the few English masses available in Tokyo. The service was an interesting experience and visitors like us felt very welcomed.
Nice church! They will welcome you if it's your first time there. You can find many Filipinos here and most of them are also serving in the church.
The mass is so solemn, the choir has voices of angels. At the end of the mass, visitors have the opportunity to introduce themselves and tell where country are they coming from, showing diversity and unity in faith and Christianity.
The homilies have been really insightful and given me a lot to reflect on. I feel closer to God, and feel inspired to be a better person each time I visit the Franciscan Chapel.
