I’m glad I made a reservation for this restaurant. It’s not pretentious at all, come in regular clothes and be ready to enjoy Kobe beef. The sirloin set I opted for was 6500 yen. There’s three dipping options you can use - I think my favorite was the salt and pepper by a slight margin. The restaurant is family operated and you almost feel like a guest in their home. Don’t expect to speak English to the staff preparing your food, but the host/server speaks enough English to communicate with you.
I can't believe I forgot to review this from my trip a few months back. The food and the experience were both fantastic. The people were very, very nice. Very laid back atmosphere. Clearly family run. Very reasonable prices for the quality of food. Don't expect an upscale or elegant experience. Expect a convivial and happy crowd and delicious memorable food. I am heading back here in April with my teen son. He will go nuts for it!
The staff were so nice and the food was excellent. I will always make it a point to come back here when in Tokyo.
* The Kobe beef filet was amazing.
* Make a reservation if you can as there are only ~15 seats.
* The staff were friendly and spoke some English.
We found this place via TripAdvisor with very good reviews but our experience wasn't that great. The place is quite small and packed even for Tokyo standards. The staff is nice but they were just so busy and couldn't seem to be able to handle so many guests. The food is alright not wow
Fantastic small place to eat delicious kobe beef teppanyaki in authentic atmosphere.
The place is tiny and has a very cosy vibe, all the food is cooked in front of you by one of the family members, who are not just great chefs, but also genuinely friendly.
The menu is short as the place specialises in kobe beef teppanyaki, so you basically just choose what cut of beef you want. However, there are lots of teppanyaki vegetables you can order on the side (some came with the beef set meal anyway) and you can also ask for okonomiyaki.
Better to book, especially on weekends.
Without doubt the best Wagyu beef I have ever tasted. The service was just wonderful- I was made to feel so welcome, which is lovely as a solo traveller. The restaurant is a family run restaurant with three generations working in it. It is small and intimate.
I ordered the larger sized Kobe Sirloin (on reflection I could have gone for smaller). This was served with teppanyaki cooked onions, bean sprouts, aubergine and butternut squash. Prior to the steak I was also served a salad with a sesame dressing which was delicious.
The wagyu beef is cooked and then cut into bite sized chunks and served on a slice of white bread which absorbs the juices from the steak. At the end of the meal this white bread is fried on the grill.no words. Unbelievable.
Thank you for such a great experience.
This restaurant is so underrated! One of the best dining experiences so far in Tokyo. The beef was really good and reasonable price. Definitely make a reservation first before coming here as it’s always busy.
A hole in the wall gem found tucked away from the hustle and bustle near Shibuya Crossing, we (a party of two) were welcomed around 18: 15 without a reservation. If you're smart enough to make a reservation beforehand then I imagine you'll be seated at the front with the elderly Japanese woman cooking your food. We were given a seat at the shared tables which didn't bother us in the least considering the quality of the beef. The Kobe beef alone is a solid reason to come to this venue but with that being said, it's about the only reason. They offer cuts from 100-180 grams valued at different price ranges (4500¥-7500¥ if memory serves right). The setting of this teppanyaki restaurant is a bit unorthodox when comparing other venues as all we saw were western tourists, but it's the food that will keep people coming back.
Small and cosy Kobe beef teppanyaki. The beef is excellent, melts in the mouth. However I think it's pretty expensive - Yen7500 (before tax) for a 180g Kobe. Reservation is recommended as it is packed.
It's a decent restaurant. But for Kobe beef, I expect the beef to melt in your mouth. I have had better wagyu and Kobe beef and paid cheaper before so I can't recommend this place.
Small family size restaurant famous for it's teppanyaki and the way they cook and serve the Kobe sirloin is excellent. Probably one of the best restaurants in Tokyo and their service is very personal and attentive. A must try when you are in town.
Went here as a family. Awesome food and beverages, staff were amazing. So friendly and kind. Had the Kobe beef fillet - totally worth it. Food was cooked perfectly, loved the dipping sauces. Treated my 7 year old son as a very special guest - he skipped all the way home afterwards. They made his night. Would definitely recommend. Best to make reservations - we lined up before 5.30pm and managed to score a table but saw lots of people turned away. You don't want to miss this place!
Probably the best beef I've ever eaten. The steak practically falls apart in your mouth. Totally explains why Kobe beef costs as much as it does.
Kobe beef teppanyaki run by an adorable family. Grandma mans the grill at the bar. Delicious steak at an extremely reasonable price. Call ahead to make a reservation because you will not be able to get a seat. In addition to the steak you can order accompanying vegetables and side dishes such as seafood Japanese pizza. Everything is fantastic.
