Changing a visa status for a foreign resident who cannot speak Japanese like me is very complicating. This is the first time I used the service of IMS. The procedure became much easier, just took more than one month because there are not many schedules of consultation in Suzukakedai campus of Tokyo Tech. Highly recommend to those who want to avoid misunderstanding and failing in visa application.

Mostly helpful but unclear about how long the process would take even though I was under a tight renewal deadline. Everything ended up working out, but i didn’t like that I had to sign a document saying that I wouldn’t ask about the status of my renewal despite the tight timeline.

I found out that there is a place in the school that handles visa issuance and extension, etc. Basically, they responded in English and Japanese, and they explained everything about visas in an easy-to-understand manner. I was able to learn not only about visas related to study or work, but also complicated visas and how to obtain them. Also, considering the cost and time required to visit the Tokyo Immigration Bureau and apply for a visa, I think it is a very reasonable and affordable service.

This is my second time using the IMS service and I would happily use it again. Really convenient as it allows me to skip all the bureaucratic hassle and language barriers.
