メリカ南部の食べ物のお勧めとしてここに来ました（私の夫は故郷の食べ物が恋しいです）、それは本当に良い経験でした。
サービスは素晴らしく、食事は素晴らしく、ここの顧客と従業員は満足しており、他のどの場所よりも本当に居心地の良い雰囲気を作り出しています。私たちはアルコールを飲みませんでしたが、ほとんどの時間水が満たされており、これはスタッフが本当に顧客の世話をしているという良い兆候です。
黒人経営のレストランに囲まれたのは初めてですが、まるで家にいるような気分です。私がただのアジア人であっても、家族のように扱ってください。
全体として、雰囲気、食事、サービス、スタッフは私と夫から10/10に値します。

つも素晴らしい。最高の体験 オーナーが大好きです。日本に一ヶ月滞在した後、これはまさに友人と私が求めていた故郷の味と雰囲気でした。食べ物はいつも、特に価格の点で信じられないほど素晴らしいです。前回来たのは2019年でしたが、雰囲気、体験、雰囲気、味、値段がすべて変わっていなくてとても満足です。食べ物はどれもとてもおいしかったですが、ナッシュビルのチキンスライダーが今まで食べた中で最高だったということを強調しておきます。

Listen I wish I took photos of this. I'm a Southerner and this was more home than home cooking.

Yeah the catfish was 10/10.
Definitely the grits were right.
Yes the service was delightful.

Here is the thing though, the owners are downright special. My first time there they treated me so kindly as though we were casual friends. They spoke honestly and are a real inspiration. I mean I want to get to know them dang it!

I came because my friends.
I'll come back for the food.
I'll evangelize because they are real.

DO NOT get the mashed potatoes! They were bland and the consistency was off, almost like rubber.

Other than that, loved the hot chicken and waffles and sweet tea! The heat on the spicy chicken was nice and went well with the syrup and waffle. Would definitely come back for that. Tried the husband’s mac n cheese and it was good; just disappointed about the potatoes.

The food is good!
But there are a few cracks that I want to address.
Trying many things from the menu, and being a Southern Boy I feel my word can carry some weight.

The Mac and Cheese is probably the best in the Country.
Soft shell crab was delicious.
Nachos on point
And the Seafood Gumbo was spectacular.

However.
The Jambalaya was an Extreme miss. Chicken very dry, and rice lacking the texture needed for the dish.
This also comes to plating issues. If you are going to have a side salad.plate the salad on a different plate. Filling half the plate with leaves and dressing to hide the fact the Jambalaya only makes up a 3rd of the plate is wrong.

Same for the country steak. Not nearly as bad but again the 4 leaves and dressing on the side of the plate just came off pointless. The okra was clearly frozen and extremely over cooked to the point it was dry and chewy.

The Soda for 500 a pop seemed really out of place. No refills and getting water refills were difficult.

Over all the staff was extremely kind. The room was quant and homie.

But the over cooked food and just lack of plating edict really hurt the experience.

Highly recommend though, just stay away from the jambalaya and Okra.

他の方が言っているとおり、ほぼ外国人です。アメリカと言っても南部のミシシッピー州やニューオーリンズで食べたハイカロリーな料理です。旅行気分になりましたが、当時と違って胃腸が弱りもたれてしまった。でもフライドチキンにワッフルとシロップを掛けて食べる料理はここしか食べれないと思います。
また恋しくなったら伺います。４つー!

・スペアリブ（サイドメニューマック&チーズ）
ザ・アメリカン味のBBQソースと柔らかスペアリブが最高に美味しい

リピート確定のアメリカン料理、ディナーメニューも気になるので来店してみる。
店主とお客さんは全員英語喋ってますが、日本語も通じます。

Friendly staff, English menus available, delicious food. The best grits I've ever had and I've lived where grits come from! Yebisu on draft. Good music (funk and R&B).

Really glad I went. Best to reserve because the place is small and it can get packed.

The seafood grits (garlic and shrimp) was so good and it was my first time having it.

Definitely coming back

Everything on the menu is good af. I would've taken pics of the food, but I was too excited to destroy my plate. Make a reservation ahead of time though.

Great place! Love the owners and the food. This is the go to place for authentic down home soul food. When I’m in the area I go here! Love the chicken and waffles and the Mac and cheese and so much more! If you’re in the area, check it out. You won’t be disappointed.

We loved eating here! The food was delicious with a great, relaxed atmosphere. I highly recommend!

Dry and moist in the wrong places. Moist in the crust, dry in the meat. That's what to expect from the chicken and waffles. Little to no soul in this place. Except for the staff they're very nice.

Food was not anything special. It is, however, the only one like it in Tokyo. That makes it excellent in its own right, not a place I could see myself going to twice.

I think this place started with great intentions; however, as they began to get bigger, it seems that they are resting, and that’s okay. I find it funny this place got its name from being a “beacon” for the Black Community in Tokyo.

Still, I saw a distinct way that they (the staff, not the owners) treated Black Americans, as we were first in the restaurant, but somehow ended up only being able to place our order almost last second only to the other Black Male who entered after us and his order was pushed to the back as well.

Let's call a spade a spade; fix your staff, especially if they don't know how to treat anyone (Black People specifically). Black people, do yourself a favor, go anywhere else; it's crazy how we feel more welcomed in Tokyo by the Japanese than our people. If you all are in it just for the money, then say that, don't make this fake welcoming environment on Netflix, and have your Black Customers be the ones who get trashed the hardest.

The chicken was rubbery; the biscuit was basic cheese was literally sliced cheese out the pack. Eggs tasted as if they were made by boiling a substance flavored as eggs. Nothing to see here Black PEOPLE they made this trash for Asians ONLY!

ZERO FLAVOR!

I had a blast at this place, really enjoyed the quite tasty food from the south of the USA which I am not very familiar with. A few Goose Island IPA's and the super friendly atmosphere made my evening a delight! I can highly recommend it! This is not a Japanese run business.so don't expect utmost privacy - somebody might actually look at you or talk to you.

I had the hot chicken & waffle. It was so good! Nice mix of spices. The flavorful type of spicy, not the burn your tastebuds off type of spicy.

I'm from Philly and used to families having their kids on the floor in family-owned places. Adds some personality to the place for me.

Excellent food, great service, wonderful owner. Highly recommend if you are carving something that will make you feel full and relaxed. Get the Mac n Cheese.

Amazing quality, just like as if it was the US. Good price per food portion. And the owner was very nice. Would recommended this restaurant to anyone!

One of the best food experiences I've had in my life here in Tokyo.
I visited this place last Saturday noon and they had brunch menu. As soon as I saw biscuits and gravy on the menu, I couldn't resist ordering it. So I did. I also ordered a side of mac and cheese, nashville hot chicken and bbq rib.
And these are the things that you MUST GET when you come here. I can say every single food was made with love. And I could actually taste it. Now this is the real SOUL FOOD!
Everything came out within 10 minutes and piping hot, staffs were very friendly.
Definitely coming back!

Lovely staff who were so kind to my little daughter, and great food. Am already looking forward to next time. Cheers guys!
