17So sad to have found this place on our last day in Japan. It's the best sushi I've had here. The quality of the ingredients is top notch, and the staff is very welcoming and friendly. Had a great time and if I were to come back to Japan, I will for sure visit this place again!
Amazing experience, every course was beautifully presented and incredible to eat. Throughout the whole meal all our questions (there were many) were answered and explained. Highly recommend!
Absolutely incredible hidden gem in Yoyogi Uehara. One of the best quality sushi experiences I've had in Japan. Incredibly friendly staff, skillful knife work, delicious unique appetizers, and just absolutely fantastic and distinctive sushi rice. A±. 10/10. Already planning next visit.
The fact that the owner's (4th generation) son (5th generation) speaks fluent English after a 5-year stint in New York was icing on the cake, as it was very easy to make a friendly connection. Good recommendations Ken, thank you!
One of the best omakase dining experiences I've had so far in Japan, small and personal restaurant in a comfortable location. Very fresh sushi, everyone is very attentive and spoke fluent English. Menu also had English translations, dishes were also introduced as they were served. Loved the selections and all were delicious! Would love to visit again given the chance!
Sushi Take presents traditional Edo style sushi in a relaxed environment. It is hard to find this quality executed by a friendly team. The small counter is mostly serving the local community, but they do an exceptional job of welcoming non-Japanese tourists. Although the small team is very happy to educate their guests, they have many interesting products and ingredients to delight the experienced palate.
Thank you to Ken and the team for a wonderful evening. We look forwards to seeing “three bald Japanese guys” in Canada soon!
Myself and my wife were looking for an authentic Omakase experience whilst in the Tokyo Shibuya area and were amazed by the food! Appreciate the hospitality Ken!
First ever omakase experience during my first ever trip to Japan so I was hoping it would be amazing. And it was just perfect! Initially, there was a little bit of anxiousness due to the unfamiliar experience and the potential language barrier. But upon entering we were greeted by Kentaro who spoke English as fluently as any American so that put me at ease right away. He waited on us throughout our dinner and shared interesting tidbits of info about the various dishes we were eating and even the history of Sushi Také. Kentaro was also quite knowledgeable about whiskey and helped me appreciate the two stellar glasses I had even more (Hakushu - 12Y & Nikka - Single Malt). The sushi chef who prepared and served our dishes was also very polite and gave brief descriptions of every item we ate. He also happened to be a former customer turned apprentice because he was so touched when he ate at Sushi Také. To commemorate this unforgettable dinner I even bought one of Kentaro's handmade whiskey glasses. Now I can relive this fantastic memory every time I enjoy whiskey with the handmade glass. The very same glass you will be drinking your whiskey from!

口に寿司を運ぶとネタの旨味、シャリの旨味をしっかり感じることができ、また気づいた時には口の中でとろけていました。
また行きたいと強く思わせてくれたお寿司屋でした。

We had the most incredible dining experience at Sushi Take. We have had many omakase experiences that have cost up to $400-500/person and this experience has by far surpassed any past omakase experience. The sushi was fresh and of great quality. We tried new fishes we’ve never had and enjoyed fish that we did not like in the past. Chef Take and Uta were incredible host and only made our experience that much more special. This was our last meal of our Japan trip and we couldn’t have wrapped things up with a better meal. Thank you, Sushi Take!
Amazing quality, great service! One of the very few Sushi restaurants in Japan where they are flexible with food allergies/intolerances! A big thank you for making this experience worth every cent!
The sushi is amazing. The fish is so fresh, and there are kinds of fish we hadn’t heard of before so really nice to try new to us / seasonal fish. The rice tastes so good as well. Recommend taking a set menu.
The chef is really cool and the staff are lovely. I have an unfortunate shellfish/crustacean allergy and they were happy to accommodate it and made me feel comfortable and secure about cross contamination though best to inform of advance so they can accommodate. (Last minute is possible but just kinder to give them some notice on that).
The inside is clean and sleek but also cozy and welcoming.
There is an English menu and it is English friendly.

Nice and authentic! Surprised at the tamago, and understood that the recipe has been passed through 4 (!) generations! Definitely learned something new. Kawahagi w liver on top was also a delight.
Great meal! Ken and his dad Take have created a nicely authentic and welcoming sushi spot for anyone to enjoy. The sushi is superb quality and the menu is very friendly to English speakers. Wishing them all the best:)
Brilliant sushi! Very patient explaining what I didn't know, and very friendly to talk to. Would recommend to anyone looking for a premium sushi experience.
住宅街にぽつんとあるような隠れ家的なお店です。
バランスの考えられた3つのコースメニューがあり料金も内容も的確で安心です。
・お寿司もお料理もたくさん食べたい方のフルコース
・お寿司だけを堪能したい方のコース
・お料理もお寿司も半分ずつくらいで食べたい方のハーフコース
女性なのでこのメニューはとてもありがたいです。
女性のみやカップルのデートにも喜ばれそうです。
ちなみに店内は狭いのでプライベートな特別感があってとても良いです。
大将も明るい方で知識も豊富なので、話していて楽しいですし、お料理もネタもすごく新鮮で美味しかったです!
聞いたところ酢飯にもこだわりがあるみたいで、とっても美味しかったです。
また早く行きたいです。本当にオススメです!

握りももちろんですが、つまみも美味しいので、できればハーフコースではなくつまみもついているコースを食べてほしい。
銀座の高級鮨よりこちらを私は選びます。
他の方も書いていましたが、おすすめ過ぎて逆に人には教えたくない…笑
