THE ALDGATE British Pub

Authentic british pub atmosphere. Serves at least one cider. Great cottage pie and friendly bartender.

This is a small Britain inside Tokyo. 90% if visitors speak English. There is not much space inside, it was crowded in the evening. Many kinds of beer and some snacks.

There is always a good selection of ale and good music. The owner is a very nice guy and always remembers the patrons. Probably the best British Pub in Tokyo.

Small pub, most clientele are expats. Beer is ok priced, good place to sit down with your mates, just know that it's not a club like HUB is!

A couple minutes of walk from Hachiko gate, Shibuya Sta. Down "Center Street".
Staff members are nice n' friendly both British and Japanese.
The Aldgate lovers consist, half and half, of either cheerful foreigners living in Japan or local Shibuya strollers. Good place to always stop by at.

I always try to pay a visit when I’m in Shibuya. This place is my favourite pub in Japan and the closest I’ve experienced to a true British pub. My only criticism is that some beer is served in US pints.

The beer selection is always good and the menu has some great British favourites that are definitely authentic.

The owner has an amazingly large selection of British rock music on vinyl and you can request and test your choice is in his collection.

Wide variety of beers, super great staff, and no smoking inside, I watched the finals of soccer world cup there, and it was unforgettable

Probably the best place in Tokyo you can go for a wide variety of foreign and craft beers. The atmosphere is nice, however the place is quite small so don't expect to be able to fit with a large group, and the prices can hurt your wallet, even if the beer is tasty.

Expensive drinks but the delicious menu and extremely friendly staff more than makes up for it! My favorite pub in Shibuya, a great place to watch sports

A nice british bar with interesting people. A lot of craft beer to chose from for around 1000yen.

ブリティッシュ・パブというとスポーツ中心のお店が多いイメージですが、こちらは音楽中心。ちょっと薄暗くて外国人率も高く、独特の雰囲気が面白い。
禁煙なのもうれしい貴重なお店。
ビールのタップが20個くらい並んでいて、定番のものもあり、ときどき入れ替わるクラフトビールもあり、いろいろ飲めます。

Except for the payment glitch, I would have given it the 4 stars. Above-average on the beer, and a nice enough atmosphere.

However, when I wanted to use my credit card they told me to leave it there and I forgot it when I left, and I had to go back to get it. I would dismiss it as my own ignorance, but I made it clear how uncomfortable I was with the system when they insisted I do it that way. Under those circumstances, I feel justified in feeling annoyed that they didn't keep an eye on me to make sure I didn't do exactly what I did. Okay, I trust them with my credit card, but they keep the cards near the counter, which gave me the idea of some criminal creating a distraction to grab the cards. Now I think I should have said something at the time, but mostly I wonder if I'm going to go back. Much better if they had just told me to use cash.

Great vinyl collection, friendly staff and patrons, solid craft beer selection on tap, usually sport on the televisions, non-smoking, dark wood pub decor, open after last train. One of my preferred spots for a pint or two on the way home.

A good range of ales, stouts, lagers etc. Traditional British food, including good fish and chips.

Excellent atmosphere, 100% authentic, feels just like home. Food is absolutely gorgeous with a great selection of whiskeys, ales, lagers and more.

Great beers! Tried two of their stouts and ordered a fish and chips. Food was okay but nice beer. Cozy atmosphere tucked away from the noisy streets, and great if you want to come hang out with friends or drink alone. Friendly staff too.

Love this place - no other place in the Kanto region (that I know of) serves cornish pasties! The chips should probably be fat chips rather than wedges, but the service is great, the staff are friendly, and there are plenty of ales, ciders, and beers on tap. By far my favourite UK retreat in Japan. Only way it could do even better, is to have full English breakfasts on the menu, but almost impossibly hard to do in Japan: (
