Toko Indonesia - Okubo
Toko Indonesia is a shop as well as a supermarket that sells food ingredients and spices, especially from Indonesia and Southeast Asia. The products sold are very varied which are usually sold and well known in Indonesia.the location is very strategic and very close to Okubo station. 2 minutes walk from Okubo station. I wish there were more products sold in this store.
Good price for getting Indonesian instant noodles (they offer buy 10 get 11 discount), but for other goods like saturated milk, you can find the cheaper ones around the Okubo area. A little too overrated.
Best place for Indonesian spices and groceries in Tokyo. It is a small shop and I advice not to come on Sunday evening. Went there on Sunday evening and always crowded.
Indonesia is famous for friendly and smiling people but not with this shop. I feel the staff are not friendly. I also had experience with their online shop. Bad service, slow response, and the stuff arrived different than what I ordered. Better to go directly to the shop!
I'm Japanese learning Indonesian and used to go to to this store before. Last week, I went there with my Indonesian gf and got insulted by 2 Indonesian employees in Indonesian. They thought we were both Japanese and couldn't understand what they said. They got upset when my gf said she's Indonesian but they didn't apologize. I'll go to other Indonesian store in Ueno next time.
May god bless this store and their staff with good health wealth business safety and happiness
Thank you
When you want to find spices or any kind of Indonesia products from noodles, nuggets or meatballs to some snacks and drinks even terasi or petis udang or bumbu pecel, you can find all here.
Best place to find authentic Indonesia groceries in Tokyo. Price is very good for Indonesia food. But the store is very small, and in weekend the queue is unbelievable. Slow in payment and packaging processing.
Somehow rude staff, Messy and unclean. Unpleasant shopping experience.
Having a mild food poisoning after I bought a can of drink there.
The shop is not hygienic at all
One of the best Indonesian food store in Tokyo. Provide a lot of Indonesia spices (you may find Thai n Vietnam spices too) with best price. But the price for non Indonesian goods in higher compare to others.
For those living in Tokyo especially in the area of Shinjuku and looking for a shop selling Indonesian spices and other southeast asian ingredients, this is the perfect place. Located just next to Okubo Station and open everyday except Monday.
They have every single thing that Indonesian who lives in Japan. They also have some other South East Asia stuff.
If you want to cook asian, this shop will be the best choice to have many rare ingredients you would not find in other place.
My Go-to Asian grocery.
They have lots of stuff that's hard to find elsewhere, like tempeh, Kaffir lime leaves, and durian cakes. Super friendly.
Very close to Okuba station, this shop sells wide variety of Indonesian goods, mostly foods. The shop's quite small and the prices are quite expensive but still reasonable for Tokyo area. My only complain is just that they didn't put proper price tags on the goods sold at the shop, hence prompting customers to ask about the price again and again.
