For my experience anyways wanting to exchange Canadian Dollars the commission rate was around 20% to the market rate. In the other terminal the exchange office was better at 8%. Both rip offs but one better than the other. Use your credit or debit card in Japan to withdraw funds and save!

8月8日午前に再訪。今度は普通の速度だった。担当者の能力差が大きい？

Exchange rate is very bad here: you need to be very careful. Today (3 July 2022), the FX in the market is USD 1 = JPY 135 (around). Travelex here is USD 1 = JPY 125.i. E, JPY 10 less per dollar. It's a big difference if you change a big amount.
I asked the staff why so low, and she said it's the rate. I went to the Mizuho bank counter at the arrival floor of the terminal 3 (international terminal) as there are free shuttle buses. And in this bank, it is amazing! USD 1 = JPY 133.31.again JPY 8 difference: so if you change USD 1000, there would be JPY 8000 difference. Not acceptable.
So unless you have a specific reason to change Yen here, i strongly avoid doing it in Travelex. (of course, Western Union, etc, is a different thing).
