From the moment my husband and I were picked up from the train station to leaving the facility via shuttle bus, we were thoroughly impressed by the hospitality and attention to detail. This was our first time at a ryokan and using an onsen (booked a room with a private onsen), and it exceeded our expectations and more. Our host Natalie was so lovely and personable. She made us feel so welcomed and taken care of. We had wonderful conversations in English and Spanish. Even though we don’t speak Japanese (just know a few greetings and relied on Google translate), everyone was so gracious and patient with us as we tried to communicate. The owner’s wife also came by our room during dinner to congratulate us as newlyweds and gifted us tea cups. I can’t wait to use them when home and remember the wonderful experience we had there. There is also a gift shop which sells the in-house vinegar made by its chef, other food items, ceramics, and more. We had fun browsing and bought a ponzu sauce plus small plates we liked that was used during dinner.

We had a wonderful experience here. The baths / onsen are peaceful; the food is delicious, bountiful, and diverse; and the service is amazing. The highlight for us was the naika who served us, Natalie. We loved talking with her and learning about life in Japan from her. We hope to visit again!

Matsusaki is a dream ~ Came to relax and recenter and achieved all that and more. If you choose the meal package you won't regret it as you are well fed with a variety of delicious meals. If you have the chance, get the private open air onsen room. It's very spacious with a view of the garden, a lovely way to unwind and heal weary muscles. It's also nice being able to use it whenever you'd like! Spent a lot of time in and out while enjoying the changing light in the garden. The hot spring water makes your skin glow with hydration and makes it soft to the touch. I feel healed!

The staff is the best staff I've ever experienced in any capacity, from fine dining to mom and pop, it's the perfect in-between for an elevated at home feel. It was like going home and your family took care of you.

The garden is lovely. There is a small box full of food to feed the koi for a lovely visual effect in the reflections of Matsusaki and the surrounding trees. It was heaven as the Sakura had fallen creating a blanket if oink for them to pop through. Spent the afternoon painting and drawing the lovely spaces before the food and soaks- a lovely rest to recenter and get strength to carry on.

Matsusaki will be where I visit every time I'm in Japan,

美味しい魚&お酒と温泉を求めての一人旅で伺いました。宿とそのおもてなしはまことにホッとさせるものがありとてもリラックスできました。コロナに対しては仲居さんからの話を含め色々配慮が行き届いておりとても安心しました。そして何よりお食事が美味しく、最初はボリュームとして全て食べられないかなと思いました見事に裏切られました。味が軽やかでくどくなく日本酒と協調。結果どちらも進んでしまいました。

最後に。松任駅から宿までの道、左右に開けてそれは見事な風景です。稲が青々している時期、こうべを垂れている時期、季節を変えて是非再訪したいです。

Everything was great, the food the exceptional service and they even prepare a English speaking staff to accomodate us. Not much view from onsen but you get all the frills that comes with a ryokan. Room is traditional and spacious.

My girlfriend and I planned our Japan trip around Matsusaki, and it was our very first ryokan experience. Based on the pictures, we knew to expect a more dated aesthetic, and we can confirm that the facilities could use some updating. The proprietress, however, was humble and acknowledged this, and we told her it didn't bother us whatsoever. In fact, we found it rather charming. We stayed in a shoujuan room, and the private open-air bath it came with was to die for. I never wanted to leave the bath, but dehydration forced me out. The staff's hospitality was outstanding. Big shout out to Natalie - she's so kind. Our second kaiseki was for my gf's birthday, and they did more for us than I could have ever imagined. Wonderful ryokan!

松寿庵を予約しておりましたが、ランク上？の露天付きのお部屋に変更になりました。
大浴場は館内2箇所あって、上が露天つきになっていて、1階の内風呂のみのお風呂では飲泉も可能とのことでした！ (肥満に効くらしいですョ)
泉質は、人を選ばないまろやかさで本当に気持ちよかったです…
あがったあともずーーーーーっとぽかぽかしてました

お庭もお散歩できて、たまにおちてるサギのを避けながら、池の周りをのびのび歩きました

お食事は、食べきれない量が出てくるわけでなくて、それがとてもよかったです！
少食でいつも残してしまうのが心苦しかったので…
朝食もあまりにも美味しくて、私事ですが、珍しくもりもりと、もう本当にもりもりと食べました笑

グレードアップしていただいた手前なんですが、松寿庵にも泊まってみたかったし、1階の大浴場まで行く時間がなかったので、暖かい頃にぜひまた伺います！

丁寧に対応して頂けて快適に過ごせました。蟹料理も量は多かったですが美味しかったです。
ただ、部屋の中の温泉にぬるかったらおいだきをしてくださいと書いてあったのですが、おいだきしたら苔みたいなものが大量に出てきて室内温泉を楽しめなかったのが残念でした。

Had a lovely visit. Natalie was our hostess for our stay. She speaks Japanese, English and Spanish which was so helpful. The traditional dinner and breakfast served in our room was delicious. We also enjoyed the onsen, both the public and outdoor baths. We also had an in-room evening massage which was great. Thank you for a lovely stay!

女将さん始め、中居さん、皆様が親切で感じ良くて、凄く癒されました。
お部屋の露天風呂、内風呂が源泉で大浴場より良かったです。
食事も全て美味しく、お値段高めでしたが、日頃頑張っている自分自身へのご褒美だと思い奮発致しました。
かなり、遠出の運転でしたが行って良かったし、又行きたい宿でした。
栗羊羹も美味しい、お米も美味しかったです。
宿でまったりと過ごしたい方には、お勧め出来る宿です。

父の古希祝いで利用しました。皆さまのおもてなしの心が伝わる素晴らしい旅館でした。料理も温かく美味しかったです。庭園や池を観たり散策したりするのも楽しく、また四季で色々な姿が見れそうだったので、違う時期にも来たいなと思いました。
豪雨被害の影響で温泉が出ない状況（ボイラ故障）でしたが、負けずに頑張って欲しいです！

空室があったためか、本来お願いしていた部屋より良いお部屋にグレードアップしてくれたり、
子どもたちがやりたいといった手持ち花火をする場所まで案内してくれたりと、
細かい配慮はさすが老舗旅館のおもてなしと言った感じ。

食事も品の良いものが提供され私も家族も大変満足でした。

ここの女将は従業員を怒る声が旅館のロビーまで響いてきます。行ったのは1年ほど前ですが掃除終わりなのかみっともない格好で客の前に出てきており気分が悪かったです。仲居さんの年配の方がとてもおしゃべりでとても不快な思いをしました。確かのり子さんだったはずです。料理は美味しくて温泉も良かったのに女将と仲居さんが最悪でした。この旅館で働いていた若い子達が可哀想。こんな所にいたら未来を潰されますよ。

蓮の花が美しく咲く、池を眺めながら、ゆったりとした時間を過ごさせて頂きました。
お部屋も、素敵なソファーがありのんびり出来て最高!
お食事も、のど黒の一夜干しを、目の前で焼いて頂き椀物も凄く美味しかったです!
また、行きたい宿です。

今回、休暇と出張を兼ねてまつさきさんに泊まらせてもらいました。1人で休暇を過ごすのに最適でした。部屋は綺麗で整っていて中庭も素敵でした。部屋に温泉があって、いつでも入浴できるのはすごくありがたかったです。コース料理は大満足で食前酒のゆず酒が美味しかったです。女将さんも仲居さんも親切にしてくださりこれ以上ないぐらいの休暇を過ごせました。

和のおもてなしがとても心地いい旅館でした。
直前に予約して一人25000円で個室露天風呂付き、夕飯・朝食部屋食提供だったのでとてもコスパ良く感じました。専属の仲居さんが着いてくれるのでおもてなしされてる感も凄かったです。
温泉は柔らかいお湯でした。布団も２枚重なってフワフワ、寝心地よかったです。
展望露天風呂からの景色はそこまで展望ではないかなぁとは思いましたが、サウナは良さげでした。
とにかく和を感じて、おもてなしを受けたいって方にはおススメです。
