強羅環翠楼

ラフォーレ倶楽部経由で利用しましたが、高校生の長男に対して夕食時に「ご飯のおかわり」を拒否されるという衝撃がございました。炊き込みご飯だったので「白ごはんでもいいので」とお願いしたのですが。セコい話に感じるかもしれませんが、なんとなくわかってくださいますか？

Immersion dans un ryokan japonais avec des onsens extérieurs. Par contre extrêmement cher en rapport à la prestation proposée.

妻の記念で泊まらせていただきました。天皇陛下もお泊りになられたお部屋で立派ではありましたが、隙間風もありかなり寒かったです。
ホットカーペットなどの床暖房が欲しいです。
部屋の風呂は温度が低く、熱いお湯も出ないのでかなり困りました。
湯加減が調節できないのは、困りものです。

食事については、なかなか美味しい料理でしたが、これだけの値段を払うのですから、部屋ごとの食事処にしていただきたい。
家族でのお祝いでしたが、他の客（中国人）と一緒で、ちょっと閉口しました。

仲居さんも少々年を取りすぎて言うるんじゃないでしょうか。
料理を出すとき、袖口がお皿に触れたり、かなり雑な配膳には驚きました。

由緒ある旅館かもしれませんが、至らぬ点を数えたほうがはるかに多く、高い宿泊料金を支払いましたが、理不尽な気がします。

再訪問はあり得ません。

Here's the proper review specifically for the Gora Kansuirou Japanese Room with Private Hot Spring Bath, Kasei, 1F:

In short, extremely expensive (I paid over 1,000 dollars for 2 nights) just because of the lack of care of the room and general appearance of the hotel. However, the property and experience is like no other in the area, and the food is much better than you could get in a Michellin rated restaurant.

This review is to help the customer find out if they really want to pay their price, and to help the hotel make it worth the stay and the price they are charging. If they were not charging us$1000+ per 2 nights, I would give a 3.5 stars.

VIEWS ARE SPECTACULAR. You can't get a better view anywhere else in Gora. The property is huge, the Garden is probably almost as big, and prettier than Gora Park, really special. Again, NOWHERE ELSE IN GORA YOU WILL FIND SUCH AN AMAZING PROPERTY, VIEWS, SECLUSION AND PRIVACY.

HOT BATHS / ONSEN: The outdoor bath is great, however one of the indoors (the one that in the evening is set for Men only) is not too charming. I would not use, looks a bit dirty, even though it is not. Needs restoration.it looks too dark, dirty and unsanitary.

ROOM: The room itself is tiny. Pictures available in Expedia makes the room look huge. NO, it is very small, definitely no more than 2 can stay here. Not a bad size for a ryokan, but I would say not more than 2 people should stay here.l. I don't mind the old looks of the room. It keeps the old Japanese house style alive and I like that. HOWEVER, the room is not kept well. Spider webs, dust, smashed bugs never cleaned off the walls, dirty/darker of constant use areas on the doors, walls and cabinets due to lack of cleaning, which could be easily cleaned by the staff, areas on the walls that have been just scratched for too long. The 5x2.5 feet carpet area also needs a new carpet. It is old, dirty and spotty. Over all, the rooms need a VERY GOOD CLEANING, PAINT, and better up keeping, specially for the price they are charging. The hotel also needs some up keeping and carpet change. If they keep the place like they keep the dining room, all will be good.

FOOD IS SECOND TO NONE. Beautiful, delicious, fantastic. You won't find anything more special anywhere else in Hakone for sure! There are simply no words to review the food. It is really good, with amazing presentation. They are super accommodating to people allergic to certain foods as well. Kudos to the chef!

Fantastic Ryokan experience, but the up keeping of the rooms specially, and the hotel can't keep up the price the charge. There are just a few rooms in this hotel, so they should keep up well with them. If they take care of it, this will FOR SURE BE A 5 STAR PROPERTY, worth every penny of what they charge.

ホームページの写真に騙された！ただたんにふっるい建物なだけ。造りが豪華とか重厚とかそんなんない。部屋に虫いるし、敷布団は古くてかび臭いし。清潔でもない。ご飯も一応コースだけど普通。冬用のストーブとかが片付いてない。
良かったのは掛け流しの風呂ぐらい。
ひとり２万以上出してこれはないな。会計も予約時にクレジットで済ませてたのに現地で二重請求された。ありえないミス。

Really old authentic ryokan with spacious rooms and beautiful outdoor bath (especially in morning light). Dinner was very good and nicely presented but not the best I have had. The place was quite retro in its style with lovely decor.

公園の中に離れが沢山有る様な緑に囲まれた、広大な敷地に有るお宿です。離れですから、大風呂、露天風呂へはお部屋を出て少し歩かないと行けないのが面倒です。
後、建物が古くてカビ臭いのが残念でした。

The hotel in my opinion is a disaster. The rooms are different that they have published in their web page. Very expensive for the services that they offer.

Just an amazing place to stay. Loved every minute! The inn in beautiful Japanese style the outside hot bath. It was an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend to everyone. Must go and see.

This was a 5 star room experience, balanced by a 3 star food experience. Be sure that you know what a ryokan is - you will sleep on a mattress in the floor, the rooms are very simple and it isn't a luxury hotel (despite the price tag). Think more a high end hostel with private rooms. The absolute winner here is the onsen natural spring baths, which are unmissable, and the beautiful rural setting in a stunning natural park. The booking includes a 10 course dinner and large traditional breakfast, which is a great experience, but the ingredients are of mixed quality and I don't think there was a dedicated chef on site. In a country with such incredible food, this was very average. Overall, though, we absolutely felt the stay was not to be missed, to experience traditional Japanese accommodation in a stunning setting.

For paying close to $300 per night, I would say this is by far the worst hotel experience I have ever had. The rooms are not only old but also smelly (mixture of mildew and something), the public bath was “closed for construction”, the noise of construction of a nearby resort being built was less than ideal, the traditional Japanese style bedroom wasn’t set up when we arrived. I am not sure how the owners of this hotel justify charging so much for this hotel room. If they charged a $60 per night, I would say that would be a reasonable rate for what you get. I read all the reviews on here and people are being way too polite, I am going to tell it like it is, run away, down the hill, to another property that doesn’t scream 1970s, anyone who calls this “Traditional Japanese Style” must know that is an insult to the Japanese culture. The beautiful views and the closeness to the train line are meaningless.

It was a nice experience, but the rooms had a few bugs and was a it dirty. It wasn’t that safe either, since there were no locks on the doors, so anybody could just walk in. Though, the service was good and the staff spoke a decent amount of English. I would recommend only staying here once.

Might be creepy at the first time cuz the building look so old at the first time, but this Ryokan has long history with it and also has great view inside, awesome garden.
Employees are very nice with the hospitality of Janpan. If you like real traditional Japanese ryokan I recommend this place
