25Came here for passport renewal for minor. The reception guy who checks all the documents before we go to the window let us in without saying anything that we lack documents. When I was called to the window, the guy in the window of course re check the documents i passed but making a fuss asking for unnecessary documents. In the website for renewal passport (minor), requirment no. 5 they were asking to bring original and copy one of either PSA birth certificate, Baptism certificate, and Report of birth. I chose Report of birth which is issued by PE Tokyo by themselves. (I feel that this is the strongest of those 3), but this guy was asking for the PSA birth certificate and he said that without the PSA birth certificate he cannot guarantee that there will be no problem in Manila and the passport can be issued. But in the end he asked me to proceed and pay which made me confused because what if the passport cannot be issued and I already paid for it. In the first place as a staff in consular section, don't they know the requirment written in their own website? I've been living in Japan for 15years and I get used to Japan polite government officials and its very annoying how my own embassy staffs treat their customer like this. Very unprofessional.
The embassy staff was helpful and friendly. I am satisfied and happy with their service. They sent me an email before my scheduled appointment about what papers I need to bring.

Calling them is not advisable. They are not answering, and even they've answer your calls, they are rude to talk to.
Hindi alam ng kausap ko na operator na tuesday to friday ang open ng report of birth ng department nila. I talked about also the notarization of the document kung pwede sa pinas, sabi hindi daw pero nakausap ko ung dfa consular office ng maynila, pwedeng pwede makaprocess doon for born-abroad babies. Kakaloka!
The staff's attitude is disturbingly rude even though I asked the lady nicely in a polite way.
It would be nice if the staff can learn on how japanese people treat the customers and do it like they do.

I came in for passport renewal. I was done in less than ten minutes. Not gonna lie—I was expecting much worse, but my experience was just alright.
A lady with short blonde hair, wearing Ralph Lauren blue polo, glasses, window 5 for passport process. She’s the only RUDE staff I guess. She’s mad just because I got 3 mistakes in my form. It’s very disappointing coz I was polite and accepted my mistake and that mistake is not a big deal at all (I can just rewrite). She better say “ maam, because there’s a mistake, you’re passport will be delay “. That’s it! Very simple right? You better review our reviews because you’re a government employees and you should be a good example for us. She needs more training (I almost cried by the way) other than that, the process of my report of birth was smooth.
The guy I talked with over the phone literally doesn’t know anything about his job. He was asking me questions he was supposed to know since he’s the one working there, not me. He told me to email them instead but I haven’t gotten any reply from them for over 3 months now! They’re working here in Japan! I hope they know the value of customer service here! This embassy is the worst!

First time I processed the ROB at the Philippine embassy complete all my paperwork including the translation of my baby's birth certificate I was still paid the translation fee, when I got home then I just found out that I don't have to pay the translation fee anymore because there is translation that I give. I hope the telller of the Philippine embassy does not pay the translation fee if the applicant have a translation of Japanese birth.
I'm so disappointed
I’ve been calling for almost 2months just to ask when i can get my schedule for epassport.but til now no one is answering the phone.
Online messaging was very responsive, even at night they responded to our inquiries. Also today, shout out to window number 5 (passport department), she’s serving with a heart. I could hear she’s saying “Ingat po kayo sa byahe” after the transaction and even greeting the passport applicant, “ Birthday nyo po bukas, Happy Birthday po! ” Simple gestures but those seem music to our ears even though we aren’t the ones who directly receiving the words.

I expected them to be nicer since they are located in Tokyo. But the staffs’ attitudes are the worst!
Why would they even bother to have a telephone if they won’t even answer my calls. I called them almost thrice a week and no one would answer. I hope they would focus on getting inquiries on phone calls too, since the covid cases are rising again.
