Easy to register as they spoke English. I used the pocket wifi for many months. I had absolutely no problems! It worked all the time and everywhere! I never had to contact customer service.

I went to Sakura Mobile after being badly treated by a major company in Japan.
They offered what I wanted, phone and Data at a reasonable price and that is exactly what I got.
In all the years I was with Sakura Mobile I never had a problem or was mistreated. Any communications I had were dealt with promptly and with respect.
I will always recommend Sakura Mobile as offering the best service in Japan. I will use their services again should I return to Japan.
Thank you Sakura Mobile for providing an excellent service.

Affordable mobile plan and the service was fast and efficient. No hidden costs or cancellation fees compared to other carriers. A good choice for a short or long term stay.

Sakura mobile provide a great service. They have English support available, you can do most things that you need to do over email with them too. It was easy to initially set up a SIM only contract, after a few months I wanted to change my contract to reduce the amount of data that I and I also wanted to change my payment method. I was able to do both these things over email. The support staff are really quick at replying to emails. After being with Sakura for a few years I have changed to another provider which is cheaper, Sakura made it easy to cancel my contract with them. If you live in Japan and can't understand Japanese definitely go with Sakura they make everything so easy.

I didn't have any problems using their sim or their internet services for the 4 years that I stayed in Japan. They did a great job with responding to my questions and were able to set me up as quick as they could when I got fiber internet through them. If you're moving to Japan and can't speak Japanese and need a phone sim with no contract, is reasonably priced, and will answer your questions quickly I would go with this organization. My only issue is that there was no customer service phone number you can call to contact them directly, but they did answer my questions by the next day so that was good enough for me.

I had an good experience with Sakura when I acquired their service. The Sales team does their job.
I left Japan in November 2021 and obviously stopped using their mobile and pocket wifi then.
I returned the devices, and informed them via email I needed to terminate the contract. The continued charging me so I contacted Customer Service and asked for a refund. They excused themselves saying that I needed to cancel the service through the website and refused to reimburse me. So I canceled my service through the website last month as they requested, and I have just received ANOTHER invoice from my bank for almost $80usd for supposed usage in February.
If this is not robbing, I truly do not know how to name it. I SINCERELY recommend that you look for another provider

Initially, I needed a phone # before entering Japan, because of the new policies surrounding the COVID 19 issue. I contacted several mobile companies. Sakura was the only company I found to be willing to help me with a pre-arrival phone number.
In my mind, I feel that any company that is interested in helping with my issues, deserves my support. From there, I then purchased their fibre optic home wifi provider system. The unit arrived within days and with simple directions, I was able to install the system without the bother of a technician or the hassle being at home waiting for a technician. The directions were easy to follow in English and Japanese languages.
Sakura was very easy to deal with, therefore I will use them again when I return to Japan. I highly recommend them when looking for cellular data services.

I used their long-term SIM while living in Japan for several years and was very impressed by the whole experience. I ordered it before arriving, so I was able to pick the SIM up at Narita International and activate it before leaving the airport. Since you can pay with a non-Japanese credit card, this immediately eliminates one of the difficult hurdles foreigners face when arriving to Japan: getting a Japanese phone number. This is incredibly important as the phone number is required for opening a bank account and many other life things. The cell service was great (it used the docomo network where I was), though it would occasionally slow down a bit in peak traffic periods (around lunch time), but that was fairly minor. Throughout my travels in Japan, I never had problems with the cell signal. Their customer service is top notch as well. Every time I had an inquiry or problem, it was resolved quickly. In one instance where I had a SIM card die on me, after explaining the situation they very promptly had a new one shipped to me. And canceling the service at the end of my stay in Japan was also completely painless and hassle-free. I would strongly recommend Sakura Mobile as a cell provider for foreigners coming to Japan. Everything is in English, the product is good, the customer service is great, and it saves an incredible amount of hassle in comparison to trying to get a contract through one of the big main carriers (which often have contracts that are difficult or painful to cancel, unlike Sakura Mobile).

I had also used their pocket Wi-Fi product for a few weeks at the start of my stay, and that also worked like a charm and was very easy to use and later return.

I have used Sakura mobile for both personal and business use. Internet service is fast and reliable, both cellular and home fiber. I have secured pocket wifis for multiple events / occasions. I have found their staff to be friendly, courteous and speedy in replies. I do wish their office was open longer. 10 am - 2 pm is a litlle limited, but all in all I highly recommend their service. Service in English and hassle free!

Currently using their long term 25gb mobile plan, and fiber internet plan. As a foreigner they made the entire process of getting set up for both very easy and their customer support has always been helpful.

Absolutely incredible service from start to finish. I used their SIM card and Wifi Mobile router service for an extended period of time in Japan and everything was above and beyond my expectations. The contract was easy to understand, the prices were in a good range, but the best part for me was the responsiveness and kindness I received by the staff. I absolutely recommend this service to anyone who is looking to travel, work, or stay in Japan for a short of even extended period of time! There are many companies that offer a similar service but finding one that provides this level of quality will be difficult. The SIM card and Wifi router never cut out on me or caused any problems! The battery life on the router was great as well!

Very slow, not unlimited, can’t stream, poor value given the high prices, unlimited pocket wifi on SoftBank, only getting 3mbps, promised up to 187 and average 20-40, no where near it, think before purchase.

Once a while ago I had issues with a SIM Card. As I visited them, they replaced the SIM. The Service is excellent, never had such a great service before Would choose again the next time visiting Japan

The unlimited pocket wifi is not worth it and the company do not stick to their own set billing dates – they will take your money as and when it pleases them without notifying you.

Very impressed with the Unlimited Sim Card I got for my iPhone for 3 months in Japan. It's the only plan I could find that was longer then 1 month and was unlimited the only thing you have to do is swap the sim card each month 3 months (3 sim cards) easy. I enjoyed the service. Worked great! Was in Hakuba most of the time if that helps others. Thanks Sakura Mobile!

オーストラリア出張で、Pocket WiFi をレンタルし、快適でした。1日 1,000円弱なので他にもっとお安い業者さんもありますが、ウェブサイトの説明等がしっかりしていたので、こちらを選択。結果、安心して利用することができました。モバイルバッテリーはレンタルしなくて良かったかも。次回も、またお世話になるつもりです。

Sakura's mobile wifi worked perfectly over our 2 and a half week trip in Kyoto, the Nakasendo trail [parts of which felt v.remote in the hills], Nara and Kanazawa. Not once did we not get signal. Battery life lasted [for our light-ish use] on average more than 1 day. Pick-up at Kansai International Airport, return by pre-paid envelope worked like clockwork- got a very pleasent email to let me know that goods had been 'received in good condition' within 24hrs of returning.
Their pricing seemed very competitive to me, plus they didn't have any of the negative issues that were mentioned in the reviews of other similar companies.
I would totally use them again.
