60Great room with a good location in Tokyo. Staff were super helpful and I'd like to come back sometime.
Very polite service and food available right in the hotel. The rooms are an average size for Tokyo although the pullout couch is not very padded. The laundry service is convenient.
Could use some updates, but staff was wonderful and rooms and hotel were immaculately clean. Prices for hotel restaurants were reasonable.and they serve American breakfast and sandwich shop. Japanese restaurant in the hotel was pricey. Good location for the fit. If you are unable to walk long distances to get to the metro, this is probably not the place for you.
We were able to walk about 8 minutes with our luggage (we had hiking packs - rolling bags might have some issues on the uneven parts of the sidewalk but should mostly be okay) from the Hiro-o subway station in Tokyo to The New Sanno Hotel. (Obviously you need your military ID to gain access - not your passport like you're going to be used to everywhere else in Japan haha). The bellhop was immediately attentive & the front desk was incredibly helpful. We've spoken to the travel desk about day trips (they check the weather to make sure if you're booking a day trip to My. Fuji you're actually going to be able to see it!) & about a shuttle to the Narita airport (book in advance). There's coin laundry as well as a laundry drop off where they'll wash and fold the clothes that fit in the (small) laundry bag for $10. There are a variety of restaurants & all the staff speak excellent English & are incredibly attentive. The breakfast buffet is all you can eat with a plethora of options for $10 a person, including tea or coffee. The rooms are spacious enough and have en suite bathrooms (which we've come to find isn't normal for Japan so we appreciate that even more now!) & the cleaning staff are wonderful! We've been able to walk and subway to every ward in Tokyo we've wanted to.
The most affordable accommodation in Tokyo for US Military members. Downtown Tokyo location with a small NEX and pool. A great way to stretch tight travel dollars and still have luxuries like room service.
Great gift shop! And American style breakfast. Don't forget your i.d, must check-in every time you leave.
Always helpful and kind. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Plenty of services to do in and around the facility with a short walk to bus stops or the train!
Great place for the military to stay in Tokyo. Be sure to plan flight so you can ride the bus to the hotel from the airport.
Really enjoy staying at the new Sanno. Small but nicely appointed western style rooms. Lovely lobby and good bar.
We love staying here overnight as a little get away from our daily lives. The pool is nice and the hot tub is even better. The food options are plentiful and the bartenders make one hell of a dirty vodka martini! My favorite place to drink in roppongi!
My only Complaint and the reason i gave 4 stars Is because of the water pressure in the hotel rooms… Every time we stayed there the water pressure is extremely low
The staff are very friendly and the rooms are very clean and well kept up. The food on the main level restaurant to the right of the bar is just okay however. They feature an American style menu such as steak, omlettes, and spaghetti and meatballs. I was hoping for an authentic Japanese menu item but you'd probably get better food outside the hotel anyway.
Stayed here after a hike up Mt Fuji. Great staff and comfortable arrangement with amenities. There’s. 7/11 down the road and a small local market. The hotel itself has some moderately priced food. Mmmm the pool is small but where else can you cool off for a dip in Tokyo? Your room doesn’t get cooler than 65 but that works for me.
This hotel is amazing! It is probably categorized as a 3 or 4 star hotel but I would put between a 4 and 5. It has excellent staff and the breakfast is the best breakfast I have ever had at a hotel. Its location is perfect because you can walk anywhere from it. The train station is located only 6 minutes away by walking. There are all kinds of cool shops and restaurants if you walk outside of the hotel and go right at the street.
Great price for what you get within quick access to Tokyo proper. Can't beat it. Staff are very helpful and polite. Very relaxing stays are possible.
Great hotel at a great price in Tokyo. Very easy to get anywhere from here. Rooms are great and the food at the hotel is very good too. I recommend this hotel.
Wonderful place to stay in Tokyo. Has a great selection of restaurants most of which are kid friendly. Food was fantastic at places we ate within the hotel. Service and staff were incredibly helpful and attentive. The location is very close to the Hiro-o subway station. Prices for a room were very fair. We will definitely come here again.
US style rooms and bathroom.if the bathrooms were Japanese style I would give this a 10/10 but instead I rate it a 9/10
Great place to stay. Great restaurants. Gift shop and NEX have great prices. Staff all very helpful and knowledgeable.
Only issue is that furniture is showing wear. Maybe not so New Sanno. I was there in 1983 when it first opened. Great values and location.
Stayed with my family at the hotel at the end of may. Had a great experience; friendly and helpful staff, good food, and nice facilities
We had the opportunity to spend several nights at the New Sanno Hotel. It was very nice in all ways. The people working there, from checking in at the gate, into the hotel, to housekeeping, were extremely helpful. We booked an excursion, had all of our breakfasts there, and a shuttle back to Narita Airport, and all was perfect. Very affordable as compared to other Tokyo hotels. Our thanks to the New Sanno people for being there. We will pay another visit down the road.
