24 One of my favorite Izakaya chain in Japan. They have a wide choice of drinks and food. They also have an english menu which they usually offer when they notice you are a foreigner. The place can get pretty busy so I recommend booking in advance (You can book online from their website (in Japanese). The theme of the Izakaya is the Showa era which is why there is that vibe with old movie posters on the walls, and old japanese music playing.
The only bad side may be that the music is pretty loud sometimes, and as every izakaya in Japan, people smoke inside.
The food is honestly nothing special. It's not bad, but it's not what you'll bring back with you after dinner.
What hanbei sells is the Showa, post-war experience. The whole restaurant is themed around that in a rather convincing way.
There are also odd items on the menu, like frog and crickets.
If you're a tourist, I say you should totally go.
Great for big groups as well.
Get a reservation regardless of the day and group size.
This is a place where everyone should stop by at least once. Classical Japanese izakaya, really beautiful inside with an atmosphere of Japan after the second World War. The music gets you back in time and the wall are full of old movie posters. The staff is really nice and helpful and they also English menu is available. They really have a huge selection of food and drinks and everything I tried so far is really good.
It's racommended to reserve a table since is always really full, for instance me and my friends even if we had a reserved table we had to wait anyway since our table was still busy. But it's really worth the wait.
Very cool Showa style bar chain. Visited this location looking for a cheap place to eat with friends. You walk through the door and it's like a timeslip. Good pace to visit for expats and new folks.
Playing on nostalgia the menu is massive and even features vegetarian fare though it's best to ask about meat inclusion.
Much of the food came feeling home made and was a great top off to the night.
