41Stayed here for almost 2 weeks. Not what I expected from Marriott properties but was pleasantly surprised. This is a modern take on the Japanese business hotel. Rooms are average sized for Japan (quite small) with no closet except for a few hangers from the wall. To save space, the non-essentially furniture are also hung from the same wall. The space is basically a bed, a nightstand, a lounge chair, and the bathroom. Very clean and functional, no complaints. The bar area is very nice and relaxing. There is a loud music area and a lounge area further away. Both hotel patrons and locals like to mingle here, the atmosphere is a very friendly and relaxed. Staff are English speaking and very friendly. Location is about 5-10 minutes walk from Kinshicho Station. Quite convenient if you don't mind walking through a bit of a red light district area (they generally leave you alone). All in all, it is not what I expected but I liked that this Marriott group hotel is able to find a new niche that is not luxury or business-y and still made it work. Will be coming back here once in a while on tokyo business trips.
