I came in for a haircut with Hide since a lot of reviews said he was good and he did NOT disappoint! Even though my haircut was quite simple, he made me feel beautiful! Even my husband said it was really nice

I chose to go to Hayato because it was recommended to me by a friend of mine, who told me that he specialized in colors. I like to do blue only as an inner color at the bottom of the head. Except for an organizational problem that I tried to adjust anyway at the time I arrived I waited for at least 20 minutes. I didn't have lunch and I was very worried if I would be able to make it to my next work session.
The staff is very kind but I do not like hairdressing chat so I did not feel comfortable receiving personal questions such as: "You speak Japanese well. Is your husband Japanese? "
I would prefer more conversation about my hair. The blue color did not take root of my hair. At the moment it seemed nice to me, maybe because of the lights inside the salon, but only later I noticed that some parts are blonde, very light colored and not blue.
Finally, the price was very high compared to what I expected and when I asked for a clarification, he told me that he did the bleaching twice and once the blue. No consultation about this procedure! Why?
I am not an expert but it does not seem different to me from what I have done in other hairdressers but really overpriced for the result I got.
I am disappointed.
Is there any way we can fix this before my departure to Italy on the 24th of April?

Stylist Miyu is awesome! I’ve been coming to Hayato for 3 years to get roots straightening and color and Miyu always does an amazing job. Great place especially for foreigners, almost everyone speaks English. Lots of love for the salon and highly trust them!

I’ve been to Hayato in Roppongi twice now and have had a great experience both times! The staff is very welcoming and speaks English. My hair stylist, Hide, is friendly and very thorough with his work The first time I went, I got the organic smoothing treatment and am in LOVE with the results (see before and after pics attached). It’s supposed to last up to 6 months so I’m hoping that it does being that the humidity is so intense here

The second time I went, I got a hair trim and highlight. My hair is medium to dark brown but I wanted to lighten it for the summer and cover up some of the grays that are coming in as I age Hide suggested a color that was a couple of shades lighter than my current. It wasn’t a dramatic change but just enough to tell a difference so I’m happy with the results! Hide and the salon assistant did a great job with the color and gray touch up. The head massage during the shampoo portion of the visit is a highlight as well - so relaxing ‍️

Hide was also helpful with making suggestions on certain products that I inquired about such as hair conditioner and thermal products. They had both of these at the salon that I was able to purchase before leaving which was convenient!

I’ll def be returning for future treatments

Great experience with good English speaking and very happy with the hairstyle they’ve made for me! Shoulder rub and head massage are superb too!

Great service. Maasa was really professional. Their staff speak English, too so they can communicate well with foreign customers. Though salon service in Japan is somewhat expensive, I’d definitely come back.

That salon don't have that professional services any more. Very arrogant attitude, overcharge, hidden prices, not in time, harsh and rushing haircut, just like in cheap places in suburbs.avoid hayato roppongi salon from now. It don't have professional stylists any more, update June 2021.

I was initially a little nervous to get my hair changed in Japan but i came to Hayato and I'm so glad I did! Mayuko-san was my stylist and she did a balayage, cut and style (my very first time getting my hair seriously colored) and it looks amazing. Her and her assistant were so sweet and nice and professional and made sure that I understood everything and that I was comfortable the whole time. I would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone visiting Japan and not sure where to go for hair!:)

I was excited because I was going to pamper myself before going out on a date for Valentine day. This was not my first visit to this salon and hence I went with my high expectation.

I got a global hair color with treatment and to my extreme dissatisfaction they never took care of the elastic of the mask that was being drenched in the hair color all this time from start to finish.

They could have offered a change of mask but they didn't. When I left the salon and removed my mask in the car I was shocked to see the side of my forehead and my ears with stains of the hair color so strong.

I immediately went back but it was too late the color had gotten so dark the stylist couldn't remove it all. I had no choice but to leave soon without my problem getting solved because the service took more time than anticipated.

I could still go back because I realized the disaster before leaving the area. Imagine if I would reach the destination and then saw my face. How could I have even lightened the stains at a restaurant?

I couldn't take a single picture on my date due to the stains around my face neither was I comfortable at the restaurant due to the pigment around my forehead and ears. What an utter disappointment my visit to this salon was. The stains stayed around my face for over 24 hours inspite of repeated cleansing.

I also messaged the stylist that how disappointed I was but her reply was a very standard template copy paste apology added with usually they change the mask but she forgot to be careful this time.
All this dismay when I adjusted my time to get a luxury service from experts.
Also the color didn't last long, after two washes I could see the loss of pigment near the front hairline.

The salon is English speaking and hence you pay the luxury price but these sort of experiences are not to be expected no matter what salon you visit. While this one boasts about its quality and expertise it simply does not justify the price one pays nor time one invests.

The support and the reply by the stylist could have been more professional and supportive. Her team at the salon was aware of the disaster and all they could offer was half hearted apology.

The simply copy paste an apology without understanding the intensity of damage they cause to the clients.
A strict NO – NO from me.

Miyu was an awesome hairstylist! I love the hair cut she gave me and the tips for styling my hair. The whole experience was very relaxing and professional as well!

As a foreigners it is hard to find good salons. I have been 3 times now and love the results each time. I usually get an organic smoothing twice a year due to the humidity in Japan. Miyu and May are great stylists too and recommend both.

9月17日に伺い、ストレートパーマとボブからショートへのカットをお願いしました。

担当の方は女性だったのですが、かかった時間は約5時間。
途中で後のお客さんが来たため、ストレートパーマのアイロン、2つ目の薬剤は手元のおぼつかないアシスタントに任せっきりで、薬剤の時間を計ることもチェックもなく、仕上がりは髪の毛が縮れてしまいました。
この間違う美容院にいくと、パーマがかかりすぎているとのことでした。

アシスタントの方の態度も技術も全て不安にさせる感じで、ちゃんと教育してから任せたほうがいいと思います。

髪は新しく生えるまで半年ほどかかるので憂鬱で悲しいです。
おすすめしません。

Update (2020/10)
I no longer go to this salon as I found a place that does official DevaCut and works/sells Curly-hair products. Unfortunately I also realized this salon is overpriced.

I recommend! I have curly hair and Daisuke knows how to cut it and take care of it. I even get my highlights done here.

Went there for a cut and deep treatment, and very satisfied with the result! The staff is nice and helpful, they do speak English if you couldn't communicate in Japanese.would like to come again!

Hayato and Mayuko are the best! They really knew exactly what we wanted and execution was on point. I will be returning again in other locations and when we are back in Tokyo. I'm so happy to have come.

All staffs are kind and do their best. They are fluent in English, too. Especially Miyu San, thank you.

I came here to dye my hair in rainbow colors, a tricky thing to get in Japan. My stylist, Mayuko, did an amazing job! I recommend this place to anyone who's looking for a client-oriented service and professionals who can make your dream come true!

I came here on whim because I wanted to do something memorable in Tokyo and I needed a haircut. It was the best decision I made during my travels. My stylist was Maasa and she was super attentive to my needs. She takes her time and studies every angle of your face and head. I was lucky to be styled by her. I was very happy with the results and will be sure to return anytime I'm in Tokyo. The entire staff was amazing, professional, and fluent in English. The massage before the cut was fantastic. My sincerest thanks for an unforgettable experience!

Great services! I’m really enjoy my experience here. My stylist is Nao-san and she is superb with both her hairdressing and English skill. I did my highlight and bang cut today, in which I’m totally in love with the result. This place is definitely recommended for people looking for a Japanese Salon experience with English speaking staff. I’ll definitely come back here again for sure.
